    Pros

Fast and easy cash. All the employees get along very well. Usually when you request a time off its given to you.

    Cons

Management does not communicate and will throw you under the bus to make themselves look better

I have been working at Outback Steakhouse full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    $100/month comp at BBI restaurants
MIT hourly rate is the most you'l ever make in this chain

    Cons

Promised NO MORE than 55 hours/week. In reality, this is a minimum requirement and weekly hours are generally 65-70 hours+
Only incentive to strive for the absolutely ridiculous bottom line goals is further promotion. Further promotion relies completely on saving face with upper level management, very biased.
Very difficult to keep staff happy with little to no budget for employee benefits, extreme punishment for overtime usage, and upper level management gives us a wage cap for hourly outbackers

    Advice to Management

Invest more in your People, and uphold your end of the bargain when it comes to living the Principles & Beliefs.

I have been working at Outback Steakhouse part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Eazy job, flexible schedule.

    Cons

Poor management, a bit of a morale problem. they won't say no to taking a table of any size at any time. This place attracts large partys of awful customers, the don't tip and run you like crazy.

    Advice to Management

Work on getting the kitchen working properly. Refuse to take parties larger than 15 people.

    Pros

-good place to learn to get into industry and how it runs.
    -great friends
    -growth opportunity

    Cons

-bad management. the main man of this certain outback has major power issues and narcisist issues.
    -managers play favorites
-the good people get fired for absurd things (not having a belt, not having pants they like, being *different*..... etc)
-money is low and youre overworked

    Advice to Management

Having a desre to be the great and powerful King will not get you anywhere in life.

    Pros

Great concept! The remodel of the interior of the restaurant looked amazing. They also had a nice variety of steaks to choose from.

    Cons

Personal relationships got into a habit of destroying the functionality of this establishment.

    Advice to Management

Avoid having personal relationships with your staff.

I worked at Outback Steakhouse full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Will hire almost anyone (which can also be a con), and work is steady if you're looking for steady hours/pay.

    Cons

Managers tend to pick favorites, additional work is often pushed down to those they don't like, everybody talks about everybody behind their backs, you're treated as just a number, raises are almost non existant (unless you get promoted to manager, then you'll be salary and work 60-80 hours a week for very little), and expect to smell like trash everytime you end a shift.

    Advice to Management

Be more selective when hiring, appreciate employees who go above and beyond, and stop talking about employees behind their backs and then be nice to their faces... Everyone sees it.

I worked at Outback Steakhouse part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great for entry level position/high school job to get some money. Exposure to restaurant business. Half off everything all the time (minus alcohol)

    Cons

Pay almost entirely depends on tips of the night and likewise success of restaurant. Treated fairly poorly, at bottom of the chain as a host. Management not very helpful and very understaffed in servers, clear that the chain is declining and losing quality.

    Advice to Management

Hire more servers and clean up a bit to raise some ratings.
