I have been working at Outback Steakhouse full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Health Insurance, Non-peak hours for traffic

    Cons

Long Hours, Late Nights, Bonus Incentives discontinued

    Advice to Management

Restaurant Managers work long hours and it really means a lot when our days off are consecutive. Training multiple Key Managers helps a lot and provides a sense of security that you could receive days off if you needed them.

I worked at Outback Steakhouse part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Great training
    - Fast paced and dynamic work
    - Accessible promotion track
    - Solid management and menu makes up-selling easy
    - Scheduling through HotSchedules (available as a mobile app)

    Cons

    - Work/Life Balance is mediocre (as it is with any restaurant position)
    - Unstable pay (again, not a Bloomin' Brands issue, just the nature of serving)

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing. Strong, consistent menus with decent portions at decent prices will keep guests happy and tips high as well. Remove or increase the gratuity on large parties. A good server can easily pull more than 20%. It makes little sense to give up tables for a large group and take home less than you would without a gratuity (guests have little incentive to tip higher).

    Pros

They money is great in the area I live. I could
Be broke one day but have 200 dollars the next. The staff is fun . The environment isn't uncomfortable the managers work with your schedule

    Cons

The clientele in the area can be bad sometimes , a lot of people quit making it hard for others to move up

    Advice to Management

I worked at Outback Steakhouse part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Fast money, and great management. The work was distracting and could be fun. Also, the food was high quality, and easy to sell.

    Cons

Terrible work environment. What was most troubling was the lack of value given to the hired staff. Customers were incredibly rude and often insulted us directly. Money was too random, and often wouldn't be anything. The real trouble was the occasionally rude customer who got free food for treating the staff like lesser human beings.
