    Pros

    • Smart team, top to bottom -- they know their stuff better than any tech team I’ve worked with, and the depth and breadth of their knowledge is astounding. • Executives and mid-management have excellent vision, and are quick to adapt to a fast-changing industry. • The company has been around for over 15 years, and it has earned the loyalty of its clients because they truly value their partner relationships. •...

    Cons

    • I read the earlier user reviews, and I can honestly say that I have not witnessed any of those types of interactions -- zero hostility and zero favoritism. • Additionally, OAO just launched a whole new employee benefit program (this June), and they have further built out their HR Dept -- things that were criticized in some earlier reviews. • I describe the New York office as quiet, but only because this is an Operations...

    Advice to Management

    • See above comment about more Exec-level interactions. • There are some quiet heroes on the team -- spot the gems and add some mentoring. • Please add more company-wide OAOcademy sessions. Highly valuable, especially with our ever changing, and rapidly growing industry.

    Pros

    - There are several great people working there. - The company has some major clients that can help you gain ad ops experience at a fast pace. - Pay is average to slightly above average, depending on position. - Flexible work-from-home policy. - The NYC office is near major subway lines.

    Cons

Day-to-Day Work: - The work is monotonous, uncreative, and unrelenting. - Lack of growth opportunities. Management: - Upper level management seem to play favorites. This contributes to a cliquey atmosphere in the office. - There are some untrustworthy directors in the company that often incite drama and gossip rather than contribute to a pleasant work environment. - Some managers allow issues...

    Advice to Management

    - Upper management should be aware that teams that experience high turnover is likely due to having a toxic team lead. It would benefit them to let go of those individuals as well as the other employees that make it a negative place to work. - Favoritism runs rampant, so upper management should focus more on team building within the office/company and getting to know the entire workforce instead of just the select few...

    Pros

    Flexible Work from Home Schedule

    Cons

No Growth Hostile Environment from team to team Health Benefits

    Advice to Management

Try and encourage a more positive work environment. Most teams do not speak to each other and very obviously are hostile towards members of other teams.

    Pros

Paid time off is sufficient, able to roll over up to five days every year. Work from home policy is reasonable. Decent pay.

    Cons

Management and overall work environment make this place a difficult one to work. The toxic office culture and clear division between teams is extremely hostile and equally unwelcoming for both new employees and old. This has been an ongoing issue for years and it is deeply concerning no measures have been taken to mitigate the situation. Upper management lacks assertiveness to help mend the clear tension in the offices...

    Advice to Management

Be more visible and approachable. Upper management has the means and power to change the outlook of this company but are very complacent/uninterested in fixing the issues or working towards the betterment of the organization as a whole. Increased visibility and initiative could lead to drastic changes in office demeanor and alleviate the ever present tension. Taking a hard look at culture and letting go of those individuals...

    Pros

Good pay and working with some very talented people. Senior management is very friendly. A 'no yelling' environment, even though the work can be very stressful with tight deadlines for projects

    Cons

Culture at OAO is very bad. There are teams who have no contact with each other or even wish to talk to each other. If there were the very rare company outing as a team building exercise, very few people would show up. Unnecessary requirement to enter in time sheets. It's required for everyone except for the very senior staff. Bad Vacation policy. No matter how many years you put in, you get two years max. ...

    Advice to Management

Reach directly out to employees and listen how to improve the work culture. Leave your office door open more often then closed. Concentrate on team building exercises rather than renovating the office.

I worked at Outsourced Ad Ops

    Pros

Management team is accessible and they care deeply about their employees and their clients. Culture is professional but laid back in a way where you know you can always get help from really cool, smart people. They have a flexible work from home policy that really comes in handy when there is bad weather or when you need to be at home to meet the super in your building to fix the heater (or some other valid reason).

    Cons

It's a small company with a small office atmosphere. I like that but some people may not.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the great work!
