It’s in the headline there. It’s uniquely a good culture that does a pretty good job of encouraging psychological safety and being yourself among other great tenets.

Salaries for people who have been around for a while are below market with no sign of the company doing anything to fix the gap there. New hires get market salary though and there are many unique and generous benefits.

Mental Health Overstock will absolutely crush your soul and mental health. Insane hours to keep up with "Leadership" expectations. We talk a lot about home life balance and positive mental health, but believe me, that all goes out the window when you have a pile of work that need to be done, no exceptions. We ask employees to use PTO as much as possible, but as soon as you request it, you are guilted into removing from the calendar or worst, end up working your day off. We have flexible work hour plans that included every other Friday off, but you cannot take advantage of them because leadership has a new idea, and it needs to be implemented today. Salary If you start in here in 2022 and beyond, you might be paid fairly to the market, HOWEVER if you've been here for a few years, you quickly fall behind. You find yourself talking with your manager time and time again only to hear the same excuse. You show your worth, it does not return. Many people leave the company because they are worth more, only to come back in a year, with a new salary and may repeat the process a few years later when they quickly fall behind. Another words, prepare for new hires (even hired below you), to come in making more than you. Overstock! Leadership We preach all these glorious principles, when all is said and done it goes out the window when work need to be done yesterday, with little resource to do it, and you better not speak up on how things could be done more efficiently.

Depends on if you work in the Corporate or Customer Service, because they are deeply divided. Jonathan J. is completely responsible for this, for dividing the company in two. The haves and the have nots. he uses all the right buzz words to excess to show that he is “with it.” In Customer Service you will never see the people who are in charge of Customer Service, They just send down the orders through pipe line and if you have any questions the response is “because they said so” You every move and breathe is monitored and they never stop riding you. The President is an elitist and has no time or interest in Customer Service, at the 10 year anniversary, he spent all of 10 minutes with us and then he was gone and left us alone and then everyone left. He gave us NOTHING of himself or his time.

They lie and put their own spin on everything, regardless of the circumstances. It’s always the same people moving up, you will be used and abused and then fired. Saw it happen more than once. IM’ed a one of the many “Vice President’s” regarding a problem and they responded with “don’t IM me again, “ not to mention a relative of hers is in HR, which is a Conflict of Interest of sorts. at “The people over Customer Service are condescending and make up stupid games and activities and treat you like you’re in first grade. Have an idea? Keep it to yourself, because if you tell someone about it you will not get the credit. Each review you will read is based on a previous employees experience, so please think twice before you apply and take heed and don’t apply at Overstock, there are better places to work.
