    Pros

    Beautiful building, worklife balance

    Cons

Training programs are set up to look god on the outside, but once you are in them, management only looks for cream of the crop

    Advice to Management

    Invest in the training programs

I worked at Owens Corning full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Extremely safety focused - very safe place to work. Good place to work for salaried management staff.

    Cons

Pay and benefits okay for hourly employees, not bad, not great. Management style of leadership varies by plant assignment - some plants are good, some not so good. Oregon plants had pretty good leadership and were fun places to work with good teams.

    Advice to Management

Keep the plants running, good to see manufacturing in Oregon.

I worked at Owens Corning full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pay. Benefits. Overtime. Fifteen minute breaks every two hours.

    Cons

Everything else is horrid. Coworkers. Supervisors. Working conditions are the worst. Say hello to cancer after a few years of breathing in glass.

    Advice to Management

Look over and redo HR. HR does not represent the people on the floor whatsoever and has no idea what he is doing when it comes to handling floor situations with employees. Give more time to enjoy employees on the floor are comfortable and implement some better airflow/ac throughout the factory especially for the employees working close to the ovens.

    Pros

Decent wages, in town, large enterprise.

    Cons

First and foremost - do not apply, run away as fast as you can. Working environment - hot asphalt and other materials with very high temperatures, dirt, fiberglass dust, sand, hot oil, antiquated production equipment, narrow minded people with bad attitudes.. Plant has no air conditioning so you will be sweating a lot They tell you to stay hydrated but are too cheap to provide bottled water Training for new employees does not exist, good luck becoming friends with many backstabbing employees who will rant to the bosses how bad you are regardless how hard you try.

    Advice to Management

Get your act together, sad to hear you were @ the bottom of the barrel when it came to ranking of all of the OC plants performance

    Pros

Great place to work and to be a part of. This is a company that suits my background in fast paced production.

    Cons

The only downside is the wait time to become a permanent employee about 6 months but well worth the wait.

    Pros

Big enough for opportunities and movement, small enough to make an impact. Clear from the upper management down that they truly care about the employees.

    Cons

Certain business can bring on some red tape. High number of 'seasoned' employees that can be tough to motivate at times.

    Advice to Management

Focus and narrow down the things we want to focus on. We cannot satify every single customer every time.

I have been working at Owens Corning (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I am lucky to be part of a great team at my manufacturing site. My colleagues are dedicated and aligned toward a common goal.

    Cons

Typical big, old company stuff...slow to change, a lot of politics at the corporate level.
