    Pros

Plenty of hours if your looking for that, regular employee's are good honest people and easy to talk to.

    Cons

Very little support, poor coomunication and terrible safety culture, would rather hide issues than adress them, work schedule changes when your off.

    Advice to Management

The good old boy system isn't working any more might want to think about a different approach

I have been working at Owens Corning full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There are a few pros about working here; pay, union, paid vacations, 401k, quarterly bonuses, yearly pay raise, safety toe and prescription safety glasses vouchers

    Cons

The cons are wide spread but here are the main ones Management, communication, safety, unfair disciplinary practices, extreme temperature variation in the plant

    Advice to Management

Start valuing worker safety over production and get away from the duct tape and bubblegum maintenance!

I have been working at Owens Corning full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The pay is good with descent benefits. It's got good hours to work and the shifts are good too. Most of the production works are nice.

    Cons

If you are a white male hard to advance up in jobs. The rotating days to night shift does suck too.

    Advice to Management

Be better if you didn't turn down people thats more qualified for someone less because of color or sex.

I worked at Owens Corning full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Great early career development
    Love the emphasis on safety
Toledo headquarters still very nice ... aging a bit but still a top notch facility

    Cons

    Health benefits
    Work life balance non existent
    Extremely high turnover
Culture rewards managing up, not necessarily results or treating people below you with respect.

    Advice to Management

Reward more of VPs based on people feedback and results... you'd be surprised how much better your organization would turn out to be.

Eliminate the Culture that rewards people who play the gossip and tearing down others game to get ahead. I suppose that is par for the course for most corporations but the culture at OC is particularly toxic...!maybe not at lower levels so much. I had a situation where two folks who were having an affair started going after eliminating roles of folks who weren't their good buddies. Senior Mgmt and HR didn't see it or failed to see it. They only cared that certain folks were 'popular and so no feedback was taken. I am sure legal fees and severance payouts here are high relative to most other Fortune 500 companies. Felt like high school.

The insurance could be better other than that there really aren't any other cons to it, best job I have ever worked at.

    Advice to Management

    Doing good work overall
