I have been working at Owens Corning full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Unionized plant protects wages and jobs

    Cons

Short breaks, favoritism still exists within the company

    Advice to Management

Instead of cutting costs by cutting jobs, try cutting wastes such as all of the scrap we produce.

I have been working at Owens Corning full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good pay, employees on the floor are good to work with.

    Cons

You will be labeled as a bad apple if you have any sort of problems at all even if none of it was your fault. Management expects you to be a yes man type employee, they really don't care about their employees.

    Advice to Management

Maybe show a little more respect for employees instead of acting like your above them, then maybe the employees would care more to do their jobs to the best of their ability.

    Pros

Great pay, simple work, plenty of overtime opportunities, and friendly co-workers.

    Cons

Too many lazy co-workers. Some of the trainers literally fell asleep on me at times, and they admitted to sleeping on the job. Work itself is very boring, which explains the sleeping but still makes it hard to get through 12 hours.

    Advice to Management

Better rotation to avoid boredom would help a bunch, and seriously do something about the people that take advantage of the union rules.

I have been working at Owens Corning full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pay is good. Stability is great . Overtime is available and union keeps job fair . Overall good company to work for

    Cons

Not climate controlled so extreme heat and cold . Rotating shifts is the most difficult aspect of job. Fiberglass is all over you and is unhealthy.
