I have been working at Owens Corning full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The company truly cares about employees and their growth. Lots of opportunity to shine, autonomy, pay and benefits are good.

    Cons

HQ being in Toledo, Ohio. Can only go so high “up the ladder” before you’re expected to move.

    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Owens Corning full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great products, good name recognition. Can be promoted quickly (if you know the right people). All the trappings of a large company (if you are at HQ).

    Cons

Very centralized decision-making and culture: everything happens at Toledo; having worked first in the plants and then at HQ, it is frustrating as it feels like the field is mostly a "necessary evil". Even then, at HQ it is a very "cliquish" environment that you have to work hard at building your relationships to make it on the "inside"; on the surface the culture is friendly and open, but the reality is it isn't very inclusive. Layoffs/restructuring/terminations happen frequently...if you move to Toledo for the job, not a lot of other job options in the Toledo area. Disconnected executive leadership

I worked at Owens Corning full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good money but get your money save as much as you can and leave ! Their loyalty only lies with people who have been there 10 years or more! Other than that you’re dirt !!

    Cons

High turnover , poor management doesn’t listen to employees, they lie and make you feel like they will change but they won’t. And they lay off like crazy they want you to work to the very minute they need you and then lay you off
