I worked at Owens & Minor full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Lots of hours and decent paychecks due to multiple employee absences and having to carry their weight.

    Cons

Never get out on time due to multiple absences, poor job performance and weak management.

    Advice to Management

Reevaluate the importance of customer satisfaction and maybe you won't lose $700 million accounts.

    I worked at Owens & Minor full-time

    Pros

Since they are constantly understaffed, it is easy to get the job. Good 401k (4% full match). Most people start at $12-13 an hour. Lots of overtime if you need it.

    Cons

Shifts are often 12+ hours long. If you are on 2nd you can and will work 15 hour days, very unsafe. Training is basically just 30 minutes of someone watching you drive so it's a waste and unsafe, especially around new hires. Management is not the most talented people, just those who have been there the longest. You are forced to work on holidays (they spring it on you or ask for "volunteers" a few days before the holiday) and 1 or 2 Saturdays a month. Always understaffed.

    Advice to Management

Learn how to get rid of bad pickers (there were way too many) and keep those that do well. Way too many good workers were underpaid and overworked. Get overtime under control. Need to invest in way more training, lack of training is probably the biggest weakness.

-Benefits start from day one of full time work
    - Time goes by VERY fast

    Cons

-overtime for those who don't like it
    - can't leave til they say you're done
    - management can be rude at times but 99% of the time they treat you with the up most respect
    - not enough equipment

    Advice to Management

Supply our DCs with the right amount of equipment so everyone can do their job, it sucks going to work just to find out you can't start your job because equipment isn't available
