    Advice to Management

Balance drive for growth with a realistic understanding of the market.

I have been working at Oxford Immunotec full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Ambitious company with a desire to grow.
    - Does reward those who have contributed a lot (promotions, salary increases).
    - Performance based salary increases are decent.

    Cons

    - Overall management of projects and work is bad. There is a lack of communication and direction from senior management to the "boots on the ground".
    - There is a serious lack of strong project management. Most work is planned and performed on short notice and off-the-cuff. This results in very unrealistic expectations and timelines, in turn resulting in a lot of employee dissatisfaction.
    - Salary is quite low for the geographical area, position, and level of experience.
    - Overall employee satisfaction is very low. For such a small company there is a very high turnover. People (often good people) are constantly leaving. Many of them haven't been at the company long. I can't speak to other areas of the company, but clearly this speaks to larger widespread issues at the company. From my vantage point, this appears to largely be due to poorly organized and managed work and projects and unrealistic expectations for quantity of work and timelines for work.

    Advice to Management

    - Your company values are great in principle, but they are put into practice.
    - There needs to be a strong implementation of project management and project managers across all sectors of the company.
    - Management at all level needs some serious training in how to manage people and projects.
    - Expectations need to be realistic for the resources available to the company. Resources are limited and at present very strained: please set realistic time lines for projects and listen to your people when they tell you that more time is needed to perform work to the level of quality required.

I have been working at Oxford Immunotec full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There are some good people still remaining, but there is also a mass exodus of great talent going on. Pay is decent.

    Cons

New COO has completely changed the culture and doesn’t listen to feedback from reps on the front lines. Sales being punished for major operational missteps - it’s mind boggling. Headed downhill all around

    Advice to Management

Customers are not blind whatsoever to the instability behind the scenes

    Pros

    Manager was great
    Very Little Micro-managing

    Cons

Company leaders have no idea how to attack the market. Overlapping rep coverage causes confusion and does nothing to drive usage. Leadership doesn’t have a clue how to make the most of their Imugen acquisition .

    Advice to Management

    Stop making things so complicated

First when I started had lots of problems, but have grown over years. Nice benefit and great CEO

    Cons

Get your minds together and make it about team work!!

    Advice to Management

Learn how to communicate with your team or other employees

    Pros

If you like being kept in the dark with little strategy and an absentee COO, this is the place for you.

    Cons

Layoffs after layoffs keep happening with the justification that "this is being done so we can go faster". Infrastructure is a shambles between IT challenges in getting new customers on-board to betting the business on a tick testing lab. Reduction in sales territories to"provide more growth opportunities for our best and brightest" is another sham.

    Advice to Management

Whatever happened to confronting reality? There are serious trust issues and it makes it feel like there is no more transparency. Bring in leaders that care about the people first.

    Pros

Non to speak of other than test its self. Current COO and Sales Leadership failing

    Cons

Can’t get it right at all and looking to make wrong type of changes.

    Advice to Management

Fix operations and billing not sales
