    - good working conditions, you don't work longer than your contract states
    - relaxed atmosphere in the office, no pressured environment
    - lots of holidays

    Cons

    - not very driven, excellence isn't encouraged because average performance seems good enough already.
    - few other young people to socialise with; not much of a community culture

    Depending on your Group - great flexibility and support.
    Salaries good compared to elsewhere.

    Cons

    Can travelling into Oxford be classed as a con?

    Advice to Management

    Put the good practice of some Groups out to the rest of the University (such as flexible working hours)

    Pros

    Lots of interesting people to work with
    Generally the facilities are very good
    Students are motivated, makes teaching more fun

    Cons

    Huge amounts of bureaucracy, makes getting anything done difficult
    Don't expect to be involved in colleges if you're a post-doc, most are ignored.
    Doesn't feel like there's any room for progression.
    Pay is awful compared to Oxford cost of living.

    Advice to Management

    Don't forgot about post-docs and remember that you're a university - not just a business.
