I worked at Ozark Guidance Center full-time

    Pros

Great team to work on and plenty of education opportunities.

    Cons

While I was there, time off and sick pay was limited and it's a high burn out position.

    Advice to Management

More time off especially when kids are out of school.

I have been working at Ozark Guidance Center (More than a year)

    Pros

My coworkers are friendly, hard-working, team-oriented people. Immediate supervisor is helpful and does not micromanage. We get school breaks off with pay. Health insurance premiums are not expensive.

    Cons

Upper management is very unsupportive. The pay isn't great. High-deductible insurance. Unreasonable performance expectations. They use productivity requirements and staff shortages to deny use of paid time off. You cannot take vacation or mental health days EVER, and it effects morale and client care. Very stressful environment. Require 30 days notice to resign and threaten not to pay out unused PTO if this expectation is not met. Productivity is based on how many Medicaid hours you bill, and you are expected to make up productivity for holidays, in-service days, sick days, training days with no kids, etc. Don't work there!

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees like people. Realize they are talented individuals with special gifts. Treat them like adults and give them a break once in a while. There is a bottom line, but it's supposed to be about the kids. Take care of employees, and the kids will get the best care.

I have been working at Ozark Guidance Center full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

My experience has been with the foster home outreach program. This team of great people who truly care about the client and act with integrity.

    Cons

Pay seems a bit lower than other agencies and of course productivity will unfortunately always be a component when working in an agency setting.

    Advice to Management

    None

I have been working at Ozark Guidance Center full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great people, great work environment. They have a very forgiving company as you try and figure how to best serve the clients. Benefits include health, dental, and vision.

    Cons

No room for growth outside of getting a master's degree. The company refuses to give annual raises but will hire new employees with less experience for higher pay. Annual review often mean listening to how good you are and then an excuse for why they can't offer basic raises.

    Advice to Management

Give out raises to the few committed employees you have before they find other careers.

    Cons

Low pay, no raises, constant change without consideration for how it affects staff resulting in huge turn over, very poor communication

I have been working at Ozark Guidance Center full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

OGC pays for supervision for those needing to obtain their LCSW certification (which is great). There's also a bunch of different departments so there are various populations you can work with. It's been a good experience for the most part.

    Cons

The pay is decent but it isn't as competitive as it should be. Also... meeting productivity is frustrating each week.

I worked at Ozark Guidance Center (More than a year)

    Pros

The intrinsic rewards you get from helping your clients.

    Cons

Horrible company to work for. HR is a nightmare, awful pay, will never get raises regardless of work history or effort, constantly micro managed, unappreciated, and overworked.

    Advice to Management

Either be a non profit which pays low but treats their employees well or be a for profit and work your people hard but pay well. Don't be a non profit that pays horrible and treats your employees like doormats that are indispensable. No wonder your turn over is ridiculous.

I have been working at Ozark Guidance Center full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great team of co-workers, decent benefits

    Cons

Organization is continually making major, sudden changes to productivity expectations, job description, PTO allowance, etc. They then spend the next few months working out all the details of how these changes affect employees. No pay increase or bonus in 5 years. No advancement opportunities in MHPP position.
