"Ozescribe was better before iMedX took over"

    StarStarStarStarStar
      Former Employee - Medical Transcriptionist/Editor

I worked at Ozescribe for more than a year

      Pros

Up until I left in mid 2017, the pros were: Flexible scheduling - more than is customary for this profession Good training A reasonable approach to management (a team leader to report to) - I was never inundated with email or meetings, etc.

      Cons

Some of the benefits to working for this company that you'll see on the internet were based on the years before it was part of iMedX. Whether that's mainly economy-driven or due more to corporate ethos, I don't know but I think they present it as the former. Pay rates fell in 2017, making this company less advantageous to work for than it once was. If working from outside Australia, you have to factor in the exchange...

I have been working at Ozescribe for less than a year

      Pros

      Very flexible, enough work available.

      Cons

Administration keeps changing rules of reliablity, bonus, etc. Rostering is quite tedious but flexible.

      Positive Outlook

I have been working at Ozescribe for less than a year

      Pros

I cannot begin to tell you how wonder this company is. The support, the online resources, the professionalism and the sheer joy of providing a timely, quality service to doctors in need, not to mention the great bonuses and generous line rate. I cannot recommended working for this company highly enough.

      Cons

One month in and I can find none!

      Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing!

      Neutral Outlook

I have been working at Ozescribe

      Pros

Things are settling down now that the former owners have completely left the building. Systems and processes seem to be streamlined and communication channels are more professional. There's a clear organisational structure and enough head office staff to support the team leaders and MTs properly instead of the owner trying to do most of it and then leaving a skeleton office staff while they go on holiday. Team leaders...

      Cons

      - Pay is dropping in relative terms as there are no increases, however it is an industry-wide phenomenon and they definitely still pay more than US - People who consistently produce poor work and have been there a long time seem to still get away with it without repercussions because they produce a lot of error-filled lines. - Some clients are terrible (poor audio, mumbling, speed talking, etc) and if you get a...

      Advice to Management

Don't take your excellent MTs with bucketloads of experience for granted. We know the clients, we know the MTIs/protocols and we are proud of the excellent quality we produce. If my personal circumstances meant I could give up the flexibility and work-from-home location, I would leave in a heartbeat. I would miss my coworkers and the actual work but not the low pay.

I worked at Ozescribe for more than 3 years

      Pros

Work at home, make your own hours.

      Cons

too many to list but heres some off the top of my head. Pay kept getting lower, bonus structures became impossible to reach, changing every few months. 300 dollars to pay yearly for useless research websites. no work on a regular basis. work is totally unreliable and alot of changing around doctors so you cant get used to the same doctor (which essentially means you cannot make money that way, it takes ages to get...

      Advice to Management

Listen to your MTs who worked so hard to get where they are, dont bully them, raise their pay, increase their workload and STOP hiring new ppl everyday - they may be cheaper in the beginning but you will be a lot more productive if you keep your old, experienced MTs happy.

      Negative Outlook

I worked at Ozescribe for more than 3 years

      Pros

You get to set your own schedule and are not mandated to work weekends. Team Leaders have professional and friendly attitudes. QA feedback is positive and helpful.

      Cons

When you log in to work on the schedule you set for yourself, there is often no work in your pool. To get any work, you must work when the "help sign" is up. There are numerous emails sent to the teams indicating there is an abundance of work but they are shorting the contractors who actually show up at their rostered times to do work, by not adding work to their pools. They are inconsistent in administrative policies....

      Advice to Management

Stop lying to your contractors about having an abundance of work. If you had it, their pools would not be empty. You have MT's showing up to do their jobs. They talk. You are not providing the work. Don't ask your contractors to produce high volumes of work and then empty their pools for your interns.
