    Pros

Currently working the Buda,tx lane it’s $170 a day. Management seems to care and will get you paid on the day’s that there are no loads. They recently bought new pitterbilt day cabs.

    Cons

Takes about an 1 to leave laredo. They have two yards and usually have a mess because of the transfers who drop trailer everywhere and new pam drivers follow that and are lazy! Lot’s of errors on paycheck but will usually follow with a com-data check to get you paid. International trucks are trash and they promise assigned seats but it is slip seat. You will have a different swap partner that meets you in austin,tx every day and sometimes they take long to arrive due to management errors(wait time can be from 1-2 hours for other driver). Will start at night and your dispatcher works during the day. Nightly management is lazy and has no authority to do anything. The money here is not worth the trouble to be frank but you are home-daily. Fyi dedicated lanes are only paying .34 cents a mile. You average about .39 cents on this lane.

    Advice to Management

Get more management people at nights. Have assigned seats and clean the yards in laredo. It takes a lot of effort to move other trailers just to get to yours. Pay is always wrong we make little money compared to otr as it is and to see a low paycheck it will get to us! Very important to have an accurate check!

    Pros

Lots of freight the truck can always be in motion as a team

    Cons

Cheat you out of money constantly never home when promised, as a team you you'll never have good hygiene they won't even want to to take a reset they want you to constantly be moving

    Advice to Management

Start being upfront with your employees

    Pros

    Decent pay and fun co-workers.

    Cons

Management is lacking the necessary knowledge to help in the office. The vibe is always tense and it makes the job a lot more difficult. The office and business could run very well, but management will not go the extra mile

    Advice to Management

Learn the job of your subordinates so that, when needed, you can help.

    Pros

If you wanna sit around and do nothing half the time your away from home this is for you! The pay isn't super bad if you can actually keep moving.

    Cons

They don't dispatch very well we have sat more than 18 hours before just waiting around and being on hold for several hours.

    Advice to Management

Dispatch isn't very organized, work on a new way to plan out load assignments

I worked at P.A.M. Transportation full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Once I learned their ropes, it was a good place for me to be. Being on a dedicated route, there was little need to communicate with dispatch.

    Cons

Low pay, hometime wasn't always as I needed it to be, but nothing that I couldn't work out.

    Pros

Reasonable Management that goes the distance to find workable solutions to the challenges of being human and working for the company.

    Cons

The compensation is low but the benefits are comprehensive.

    Advice to Management

Spend less on new trucks and more on drivers. Every empty truck is a potential pay increase for company drivers.

I have been working at P.A.M. Transportation full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The free training. Other then that absolutely nothing at all. Run fast run hard run run run run run run

    Cons

Worst pay, only 17 cents per mile if you are a team driver. I am away from my family 24/6. My paychecks after taxes are usually 400 per week. My family cannot survive on this. It's not worth it. Because I am OTR I am in my truck 24/6 it is horrible. Even when I am not driving I am in cab just bored out of my mind. I don't know how this company gets away with such low pay. We should get paid as long as we are in the truck. It's not our fault if we get stuck waiting for a load for days and only getting paid 20 bucks a day to sit there. Worst company ever to work for.

    Advice to Management

Shut down this company or re evaluate drivers pay. You are robbing hard working drivers. What a joke of a company. I guarantee this company will get shut down eventually .
