    I worked at P.F. Chang's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Somewhat laid back, easy when not busy, higher pay than other host jobs

    Cons

Favoritism, when busy there's not enough people working, you work alone a lot so when busy it's difficult

    I worked at P.F. Chang's as a contractor (More than 3 years)

    Pros

A part of my job was to deal with their many contractors like the pest control or repairman for the equipment or their many truck drivers etc. Also GM was always starting his shift asking me what happened last night and i always made him smile with a good word in the morning, The chef or sous-chef and other employees were also coming to me for a few word exchange or problem solving or advise.

    Cons

The top management was always trying to get the cleaning service responsible for their own failure and thought we were their employees.

    Advice to Management

This location would need more investment to make the visit more agreeable for the customers like outside awnings to protect from the direct sun on the main patio and different booth bin to sit at like in older Chang's restaurants.. Soundproof walls in the dining room to cancel the noise and the soda fountain closer to the dining room to speed up the service. Need to review the layout and turn this under paying location to an all you can eat Chang's Buffet instead who would generate tons of revenue !

    I worked at P.F. Chang's full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Consistently busy stores made for reliable income for a server. They also offered very decent health benefits for full-time employees - not something you see every day for tipped employees.

    Cons

Very corporate atmosphere that is common in large chain restaurants.

    Advice to Management

Allow FOH employees to exhibit their personalities more.

    I worked at P.F. Chang's part-time

    Pros

The workload was challenging enough to help me grow, but simple enough to do.

    Cons

The management at my location was terrible and the work environment was even worse because of the inappropriate behavior of some employees.

    I worked at P.F. Chang's full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Their training programs are great - they are very specific to the job, but there is very little accountability at a store level to make certain that the training program is not just in place, but is actively promoted on a store level.

    Cons

A: Most General Managers have little or no responsibility for their training programs - in my limited knowledge (after 5 years in management) While there is a strong manifest laid down to the General Managers, there is little or no accountability B: It is hard to go through the training session for the trainer and still make money on their shift, and while there are many great trainers in the program, they are very loosely supervised, and the training diaries that are required by the corporate training manuals are loosely followed and maintained.

    Advice to Management

Make training of your new employees paramount to achieve your success!

    I worked at P.F. Chang's part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Some of the co-workers were like a family.

    Cons

Management was a bit unorganized and always put the guest before you no matter what, some co-workers that didn't work the same position that I did were toxic. Management would not help you advance in career.

    Advice to Management

Wouldn't hurt to care for your employees a bit better like you say you do when you're hiring.
