I have been working at P2 Energy Solutions for more than a year

    Pros

Learn software and oil & gas industry, smart people, good connections

    Cons

Management shifts and changes have led to closed minded individuals being in charge. No industry experience, so they are unable to accurately and efficiently understand the true needs of customers.

I worked at P2 Energy Solutions

    Pros

Good benefits, flexible schedules, social events. There are usually good people working alongside you and your coworkers are pretty open to helping out.

    Cons

micro management, inconsistency across leaders, too focused on the bottom line. They tend to keep people in roles when they have shown a lot of ineptitude and poor leadership out of fear of upending the ship. This tends to push people with good ideas and promise out of the organization while the teams continue to get beat downs from managers that have no business being managers.

I worked at P2 Energy Solutions full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Interesting people, good location, good work environment.

    Cons

The pay was a bit lower than the competition. Lots of employees were moving in and out constantly; partly due to acquisition of other companies, and partly due to employees leaving.

I worked at P2 Energy Solutions

    Pros

Still have decent products and an impressive client base There's a number of good people, trying to do good stuff The variety of technologies provide opportunity to broaden your skill set

    Cons

Review process is ridiculous; managers can't provide realistic feedback, they must fit their evaluations to the infamous Bell Curve, so (in)Human(e) Resources will have ready victims for the next layoffs. Vista Equity Partners (parent company) has defined business practices that will be applied without regard to prior success, even if those practices alienate customers and employees alike. Cube-land; before Vista, everyone got an office - now it's all cubes, and they're horrid little boxes.

I worked at P2 Energy Solutions

    Pros

    Some good people still left

    Cons

The company’s goal is to get rid of anyone over a certain age regardless of experience or job performance and bring in recent college grads. They want the young cheap employee that doesn't have the experience to tell how badly the company is being run.

I worked at P2 Energy Solutions full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Relatively stable during oil industry fluctuations. Met some good people. Decent PTO to start. People seemingly care about you.

    Cons

    - 4 CEO's in the span of 2 years, lack of vision, leadership and concern for employees from executives and the board. As well as zero desire to invest in any industry other than oil and gas. - Hire people and put them in a position where they are making back door database changes for integral software products for major companies without any training or education at all. - 'Training' platform is to throw new hires in the deep end and watch you struggle while you are trying to help clients and rely on everyone around you to give you the bits and pieces you need to just get by as well as one weeks worth of training on communicating with clients (like a call center would) where you are told you're a unicorn. - Customer Support executives work in different city/country and have no comprehension of the needs of employees in Canadian offices. Canadian Support managers were completely unable to provide anything of substance that addressed real concerns, are mostly messengers for the executives with no real ability to help you. - Directors and managers in Customer Support are combative when requests for pay increases are made. Spend more time telling you why you don't deserve something than working with you. Would rather devalue you than be honest. - Requested a detailed breakdown of the responsibilities and requirements of my position over the course of 2 years and got the run around from everyone including management, HR and multiple directors. Preventing the ability to drive ones own career and ensure they are meeting and exceeding their job in order to move up in their career. - Grossly understaffed support teams and a complete unwillingness to hire more people or compensate those doing the work of 3-4 employees for their efforts. - Pay is well below market in this city, and barely reaches the bare minimum to live. Over nearly 3 years the highest performers barely received enough in raises and bonuses to cover the inflation to cost of living, let alone see an improvement in the quality of their lives. - Zero incentive to be a high performer (see above). It is much better in this company to do the bare requirements as the 'reward' for going above and beyond is more work ('opportunities') with no recognition of any value. - Management never misses an opportunity to tell you not to discuss anything in regards to salary or bonuses or raises. Big red flag right there.
