I have been working at PAREXEL full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Quick progression If you are good. Not so quick if you aren't. Many possibilities to move around the company (departments) if you like

    Cons

Low salary progression if you stay with them for many years. It would be much quicker if you change jobs (externally)

    Pros

Interesting Industry to work in. Generally relaxed sociable working atmosphere. Good HR policies, look after their staff well.

    Cons

Can be an infuriating place to work due to what feels poor leadership and direction from the top. Often decisions are made and not disseminated or enforced. Management feel significantly detached from day to day issues. There is a lot of politics.

    Advice to Management

Engage more with staff at all levels, try and make more decisions based on sound information, or at least explaining the rationale behind decisions would help people engage more when implementing them.

I have been working at PAREXEL full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

good people, fair workload, easy to move to other departments if you wish, great training opportunities. You are welcome to share your ideas anytime or voice your concerns.

    Cons

Progression as a CRA can take a lot of time, systems are trashy and poorly designed (Datalabs is overly complex for no reason and IMPACT is not very intuitive, at all).

    Advice to Management

get some resources into streamlining the current systems and update the laptops for god's sake.

I worked at PAREXEL as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

Good experience, you're given quite a wide range of responsibilities for an intern, doing almost the same things as full time team members, challenging environment, good training and helpful collegues

    Cons

Terrible management, chaos, no information from most people higher up about anything, don't even greet regular employees unless they needed something from them, this athmosphere probably doesn't help a worryingly high turnover of staff (average 3 people a month in a unit with maybe around 60 people)

    Advice to Management

Change your attitude to all the employees you have below you

I worked at PAREXEL full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Very far reaching firm, lots of opportunities internally if you skills or experience in a scientific background. The company has grown largely from acquiring smaller firms.

    Cons

The down side to frowning threw acquisitions is a real silo mentality. The firm is drowned in red tape paper and there is no compromise with it due to being listed on the stock exchange.

    Advice to Management

A much better effort needs to be made to introduce cross department interaction. A real investment and focus on the sales team would give a huge return on that investment.
