I have been working at PEAK Technical Staffing USA full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

I have been contracting with Peak Irvine, (now Santa Ana office) for the past eight years.
Competitive pay rates and established companies in their database. Call Linda Hicks, she
    is very proactive. Highly recommended.

    Cons

Overtime is not usually available, but contractors are expected to complete all tasks on a timeline
that a full time employee would receive overtime for.

    Advice to Management

Management listens to any concerns I have and are always ready to rectify the concerns and keep employments options available.

    Pros

70% of the staffing managers are kind, caring, top-notch people who truly want to help you make the next step in your career.

    Cons

Every role in the 'National' branch comes with forced overtime and no flexibility, even when salaried. They will take advantage of you and encourage weekend work. Once you reach Staffing Manager, there is no room for career growth and leadership won't encourage you to train or develop new skills. After on-boarding there's no more training.
30% of staffing managers are grumpy folks that are looking to meet their sub targets and complain about their hires. They'll hire contractors and never talk to them again / dodge all calls.
The best employees are overworked and under appreciated.
Management is harsh, micro-managing and has a coach mentality that destroys any semblance of happiness in the building. Some bully their workers by making up nicknames and frequently invade personal space when they feel 'threatened'. This leadership style is toxic.
Management will work any job order that comes in- there are no standards. They'll allow contract employees to get lead poisoning to make a quick buck.
Benefits are awful. No 401k match and the plan is outdated. Health insurance is expensive and the provider does a terrible job of answering any questions. Pay is below average and bonus targets are hard to reach.
Nepotism is a core company value. The place is family owned & operated. There's little to no hope for a decent promotion.

    Advice to Management

Ask people why they quit and do something to address it. Until things change, PEAK will continue to be a revolving door.

    Pros

The pay was competitive. The work schedule was conducive to maintaining work/life balance. Overtime was optional when available.

    Cons

The job description and title were inaccurate. It was more involved than what was described in writing. Overtime was not always available.

    Advice to Management

Make sure to get complete job details and expectations from clients.

    Pros

Training for Recruiters and Sales staff.

    Cons

Revolving door. Mediocre performers tend to stick around PEAK. Top performers tend move on to better companies.
    High cost of medical benefits.
Old school managers. A bunch of "yes sir" type of people. Management does not stick up for their people. Lot of backstabbing.

    opportunity for bonus
limited mandatory OT and weekend hours are voluntary

    Cons

management not hired from within. Once you get to staffing manager... that's where you'll be for a long time. some management has never even been in recruiting, which I think would be necessary in a staffing agency.

    Advice to Management

learn what the recruiters and staffing managers go through. qualified candidates don't just pop out of the oven like sugar cookies

    Pros

There are no pros. This company is totally the worse place to work period. All their good staff have left, are looking or leaving. Management is a joke. There is no one to bring in new jobs. The best salespeople have left and there are no sales folks to proactively search for new jobs.

    Cons

    Need I say anything more?

    Advice to Management

Sell your company and fire everyone that is in management.

I worked at PEAK Technical Staffing USA (More than a year)

    Pros

The only pro's for working for this staffing agency is the direct placement commissions. They are the best out on the market.

    Cons

Where to even start: The management at the Oceanside, CA office is terrible. I wouldn't even call it management, instead I would call it micro-management. The hours are awful and for an exempt employee, you are treated like you are on the clock. The moral in the office is the lowest I've ever seen at a company. People hate coming to work and can't wait to leave. No one can talk with each other in the office and don't ever ask for any advice or help, none will be given. I have been working for over 20 years and have never worked at an establishment with such bad management. It's actually a very abusive, degrading place to work and if you are a women, you will never get anywhere. It's a very masochistic environment. Very unrealistic goals are the standard so that they can easily say you are not performing and fire you. In the time I worked there I witnessed 20+ people fired and another 15-20 quit. The benefits are a joke! High premiums and deductibles.

    Advice to Management

Advice to upper management: clear out management in the Oceanside office and start fresh. You will never retain recruiters with this management team.
