I have been working at PENFED Credit Union full-time

    Pros

I have really enjoyed working here at PenFed can't believe it has been 6 years I am very thankful for all the opportunities this company offers great benefits.

    Cons

No Opportunities for growth and the pay is not competitive with what the market is paying specially for existing employees. We should be allowed to be re evaluated to the new payscale it is very upseting to see what we should or could be getting paid and being told you have to stay at what you make regardless of what the paper says or your experience and rely solely on the 3% yearly increase.

    Advice to Management

Again reconsider matching existing employees to what you have came up with as far as market pay scale. Employee retention is key.

I have been working at PENFED Credit Union full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The CEO really cares about the company and that the company is on a long term growth path. This means he cares about the employees. This includes
    - Upgrade facilities (Tyson's corners i a NEW office, and the other offices are getting upgrades)
    - A variety of benefits outside of health/vision for family/wellbeing
     - Investing in the company and systems along with the people

Overall I have only been here a few months but the company itself seems to be a good place.

    Cons

The area i work feels very 'corporate' in terms of culture... Not bad just 'corporate'.

The teams are very silo-ed and people are no the most friendly across teams. I myself am not the most talkative person so take that for what it is worth.

    Pros

Strong, focused leadership that strikes the balance between PenFed's reputable and conservative history with changes in technology and the modern needs of the consumer/member.

    Cons

If you want a boring job in a complacent culture, PenFed may not be your fit. PenFed is an exciting and dynamic place to work. The opportunities for contribution and growth are strong here, but you need to have the desire to work hard each day and collaborate with others.
