      Pros

Great benefits and great resources to learn your job.

      Cons

Pay isn’t the best. Doing job of a supervisor and no title change. Better new hire training

Great people & work life balance, limited process

      Pros

The company seems to greatly value its people. I'm a relatively new hire, but there already seem to be a lot of opportunities for upward mobility. PenFed has been on an incredible growth trajectory, and that's evident in how quickly the organization is growing. The people have been very welcoming and kind, which makes a huge difference in an organization. The company values work life balance - as a full time employee, the full work week is 37.5 hours instead of 40.

      Cons

The company has a lot of room for improvement on establishing processes and procedures. Team seem siloed and more or less do their own thing without following a set company standard.

Great benefits, culture and leadership. Lots of opportunity for advancement depending on your role and willingness to learn new things. PenFed takes great pride in being a destination employer, which is evident throughout the entire organization

      Cons

      Pros

Does a good job fulfilling its mission and serving clients.

      Cons

Current leadership is very good, but change is occurring and the credit union is expanding which has some challenges. This is may not be a con but does include some growing pains.

      Stay Away

      Pros

The only good thing is you get paid. Not paid well, just paid.

      Cons

Hands down the worst company I have ever encountered. It is so poorly run by upper management, I can’t even begin to stress the incompetent actions of management. The group of people in charge of lending are the most arrogant but ignorant people in the industry. They have no intentions of bringing anyone who is not a crony into any management role. Because of this, average employees are forced to suffer. God forbids they hire someone with talent and insight. Those in Tysons and management in Omaha are especially lacking in both professionalism and talent. There is no place to go but down in this corporation. If you wish to get ahead or even have a tiny bit of respect for yourself it’s best to stay away.

      Pros

Penfed truly supports its employees in both their everyday jobs and also in their career growth. They've been very flexible in allowing employees to work from home during Covid, and seem to care for both their physical and mental well-being.

      Cons

I do not have any cons to share.
