Pros
Remote work for the most part / have not experienced micro management
Cons
When hired was promised although some departments work 37.5 hours a week that wasn’t the case for mortgage . For the last few months only underwriting has been restricted to work 37.5 hours a week and still expected to hit the same Metrics . Most of the responsibility of the loan falls on us even though 85% of the processors have little to no concept of processing/guidelines or how mortgage in general works. Files are constantly sent incomplete with key pieces of data missing . Unless you ask for something down to the exact wording their management finds a way to blame underwriting. Their work is mostly sloppy and it feels like we are babysitting them most of the time. They’re also allowed to work OT because they’re not able to complete their basic job functions within 40 hours. Updates aren’t communicated - guideline changes/procedures changes outside a general email sent maybe once or twice a month. Pay raises and promotions have been promised and the back peddled more than once for me personally Most of my colleagues log off daily mentally exhausted and riddled with anxiety. Layoffs have happened more than once in 6 months though we were promised it wouldn’t happen after the first time . This really feels like a backfire when they kept hiring last year even though we were adequately staffed .

Some of the best employees you'll ever work besides and will become life long friends well after you've left the position.
Cons
Management is in sore need of an overhaul.

Great pay, but deal with lots of attitude
Apr 4, 2023 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
- $1500 paychecks biweekly - phone calls aren’t the worst, you can be skilled for credit cards, loans, deposit accts - pre-recorded call greeting, which makes calls easier - they offer 4x10 schedules - nice site, free gym, free circle k drinks/slushes/coffee - parking and getting to your desk is easy, site is only 2 stories
Cons
- short 10 min breaks - everyone you have to reach out to is always condescending and rude, management doesn’t do anything about it - disrespect is tolerated - not a lot of diversity - not the easiest to get time off approved - hostile work environment - not a lot of room to move up - management doesn’t go in depth in 1:1s or team meetings, always rushing through them

System Issues for Eons
Mar 13, 2023 - Customer Service RepresentativeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The pay and benefits are decent Some managers are amazing and do everything in their power to help you succeed
Cons
-The system issues are insane. Reviews tried to warn me and I thought they were exaggerating but they are not. The members call in so angry about the online system and app not working, and you have to take the brunt of it. IT is just as stressed as customer service is -When they are understaffed, managers pressure employees not to use their personal time for restroom breaks due to the call volume -Managers are allowed to make their own metrics for employees that are more strict than the company's metrics -The PTO is divided into sick time and personal, and you absolutely cannot exchange the two and can only use it in increments of 15 min but you don't accrue it in increments of 15. You will have leftover PTO that's hard to work into usable time off -You get paid in 15 min increments and not minute for minute -You need to start signing in at least 10 minutes before your shift starts because it takes that long to log in sometimes but you don't get paid for it -Some managers are very close to upper management and if you get stuck with a micromanager, there is really no one willing to help you - pretty standard for call center environments -Different call centers get different perks, they are not all universal

IT system is a joke
Mar 25, 2023 - Branch Service RepresentativeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I have some of the coolest coworker that I hope I’ll stay in contact with, but YMMV Branch hours are much shorter than commercial bank so you’ll have more free time If you aren’t career driven and just want a job to pay bills, this is a great gig
Cons
IT: You’ll love the IT system here if you love the 2000’s You will spend up to 5 minutes doing very basic things that took 30 seconds at your previous bank job ‘are we able to process credit card application / loan app today’ is a legitimate questions that get asked once or twice a month in the employee chat because the tech infrastructure just doesn’t work ChatGPT is blocked on company network; they do not embrace current gen technology Sales: There’s no incentive for sales, 50k sales volume or 500k you’ll get paid the same They don’t do mutual funds or insurance in branch so if you’re interested in a career in retail banking this isn’t the place Others: Start at 15 days PTO Managers seems to get bogged down by massive amount of meeting

Disconnected, Egotistic, Incompetent

- Health benefits - Community volunteer opportunities for resume building
Cons
- From Exec leadership to Dept level Mgmt, no genuine care for employees. It’s always about them and no genuine care for you. - Unorganized and sloppy structure with no alignment for growth and industry - Outdated technology with way too many distrusting errors (ask yourselves why so many employees won’t even bank here) - Red flag: no true specialized departments and instead handle a bit of everything

Could invest in better IT
Mar 16, 2023 - Member Service Representative I (MSR I) in San Antonio, TXRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Great pay and benefits. Monthly challenges to motivate performance, rewarded with paid time off.
Cons
Employees who are performing above average are forced to work in-office when there's nothing done differently in-office that can't be done at home. For example, team meetings are still held via chat/video instead of in-person. Management isn't always in-person either so if they don't have to be there why should the front-line employees. With so many other companies offering 100% remote work, no wonder they have people not showing up for interviews. So many system issues that cause member & employee frustration that could be improved. Better streamlined processes for getting member information updated.
