I have been working at PES Payroll full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

PES has incredible software that the clients love and makes my job more rewarding. The company is very family oriented. Good benefits too. Full gym with showers for employees.

    Cons

This is the first job I have had where the downsides are not even worth mentioning. They need to make better use of the Sun Deck.

    Advice to Management

Keep on the same track. The team is becoming amazing and the clients feel important (which they are).

I have been working at PES Payroll full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It's nice to see a company that is very customer service oriented and treats its employees with respect. The management overall is very supportive as long as you reach out. And yes, there's a small gym. The company has good products that is pushing it to the front of the reality TV payroll world, the growth is promising.

    Cons

Definitely going through some growing pains, organization is not particularly good. The payroll department certainly seems the messiest, with the overall procedures being inconsistent from employee to employee. Cannot speak to the other departments, but the in fighting in the payroll department is very juvenile.

    Advice to Management

Bring on an experienced payroll supervisor and make consistent the policies and procedures in the office. Management working more closely with the employees may help.

    Pros

Really felt like a full-time employee with actual decision-making powers. Great group of people.

    Cons

Small resource base, and sometime ambiguous goals and objectives.

    Advice to Management

I would focus a little but more on guiding the intern with what needs to be done.

    Pros

There is good opportunity for advancement. Great technology. PES Payroll cares about its employees. We even have a full gym and shower just for employees. Great job security.

    Cons

There was a lady in upper management that was nasty but, she left and went to a competitor. There really are no negatives. I feel very fortunate to be a part of this great team.

    Advice to Management

Keep moving forward with your vision. The software makes everyone's job easier and the clients love it. I'm excited about the new software that I saw.

    Pros

The management is in California, and job is in New York. For a self directed individual with good communications skills this can work well.

    Cons

Management has little understanding of running a software company, and does not try to understand why software isn't written instantaneously. They also think that a fast paced environment means that the development team can change direction/project/focus daily and still accomplish the work that was assigned. Communication of important changes in project scope, and specification were often absent as well.

    Advice to Management

Specifications, even informal ones that do not change once agreed to would be helpful. Listening to the development team's suggestions about technical matters would make us feel less alienated.
