I worked at PHH Mortgage full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Once what was s thriving company with a lot of opportunities has slowly dwindled to a has been company.

    Cons

Poor leadership. Poor management and some managers did nothing while other managers were real workers and pushed their employees to succeed.

    Advice to Management

Do your job and communicate with your employees and keep up with current trend of mortgage industry.

I worked at PHH Mortgage full-time

    Pros

Training provided to advance into other positions, management on my team was approachable and fair. Room for advancement. PTO, on site fitness facilities and cafeteria. Wellness programs. Recognition program.

    Cons

Health insurance options were costly and all included HSA-consumer driven policy with high deductible. It was very high for family.

    Advice to Management

With the exception of the health insurance, I was very happy during my time at PHH Mortgage. I would recommend that management offer training classes like they did years ago. They were very helpful. Also, include more people or criteria in the recognition program. Only the highest performers were recognised. Hard working employees should receive recognition as well.

I worked at PHH Mortgage (More than a year)

    Pros

Great co-workers. The company problems are not due to the employees not doing their best and giving it their all.

    Cons

Very weak systems, including an LOS that is well behind the leaders in the industry. Staggering losses quarter after quarter makes one wonder how they can stay afloat much longer. Hard to stop the bleeding at this stage.

    Advice to Management

Putting Band Aids on obsolete systems is not investment. Understand why the competition has taken a different path and seriously consider it. Job security fears will only mean a greater purge of talent.

I worked at PHH Mortgage full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They used to have a lot of perks for their employees; like the gym, indoor convenience store, and dry cleaners

    Cons

Most of those conveniences are gone now. And the work environment is horrible. The supervisors are not trained and should not be allowed to hold their positions without proper training. Because of this, there are a lot of issues with impropriety, because of the lack of experience and training of the upper management. Also only work at this company if you are comfortable being laid off every six motnths or so, and then hired again making much less! Layoff City

    Advice to Management

My advice to management would be to request that your employer sends you to management training courses.

I worked at PHH Mortgage full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good pay with commission. Overtime. Department managers were really cool

    Cons

Very unorganized. HR will fire you at the drop of a hat without allowing you to defend yourself even if it's not work related. If they fire you good luck finding a new job. PHH will give a bad reference every time even if you disagree with why you were let go. It's been over 6 months and I still can't find a job because PHH will not give a good reference. HR will go into detail regarding why they let you go.

    Advice to Management

Hire better upper management. Keep your good employees. Do something about HR. The Company is closing for this reason. Firing all good employees
