I have been working at PIER 39 full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Working here is great! People are kind and management always has a minute to chat. If you want to learn they are willing to teach, fantastic views and some cool perks (boat tours, Alcatraz Island, company events once a quarter) and free parking! Good benefits, low stress environment and M-F 9a-5p = nice work life balance.

    Cons

Pay is average and there is not much room for upwards growth as it is a large company with a lot of lifers in key positions.

    Advice to Management

    Keep growing and think big!

    I worked at PIER 39 full-time

    Pros

Great waterfront location; all the owner/operators and employees generally enjoy being there. Great "benefits" to share with friends and family.

    Cons

Women managers are Disappeared by management whenever it suits them, after 1 - 5 - 10 years of Service. No Goodbyes, just GONE. Soulless. Gotta be the Right Type of Person and drink the punch. The Texas based management holds all the power. Bass Brothers have tight control. That says it all.

    Advice to Management

Try giving a woman executive the authority to approve expenditures, sign checks. Give honest feedback on performance.

I have been working at PIER 39 full-time

    Pros

    Views are great.
Many nice people working in the merchant shops.
    Free parking.

    Cons

Huge gap between the Executives, managers and people who actually do the work.
    Bad communication level of managers.
No growth opportunity for the employees.
Favoritism, cronyism, nepatism are strong here.
    Positive feedback is very rare.

    Advice to Management

Change your tactics for communication with employees.
Try a modern progressive approach. This isn't 1980
I was hopeful about the recent Employee Engagement Program but it doesn't look encouraging for future employees.
