I have been working at PLS Logistics Services full-time for more than a year

    Pros

These negative reviews are submitted only by the people who are not cut out for this type of work, sales is tough and it is not for every one.. Period. The opportunity in this industry is limited only by how much effort and work you put into it. If you are not a driven, focused and hard working person, you will not succeed. If you are an emotional, type B personality who complains about hard work (like most of these negative...

Benefits could be a little better but you get all the basics, 401k, health, dental, vision etc.

    Advice to Management

Very relaxed management style but they hold you accountable, you are expected to put in the work and managerial support is always there if you need it

I have been working at PLS Logistics Services full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

I have tripled my salary in the 2 years that I have been here. there is so much opportunity for growth. Management and upper management give you all the tools you need to be good at your job. There are goals and records to keep you motivated. You gain all types of experience you can take anywhere if this job isn't for you. There where the vice president of the company helped me get a load taken care of after hours when...

Saturday shifts suck. We work 1 per month. They especially suck for me because I live 50 minutes or so from the office. I work a lot from home on the weekends already and wish I didn't have to drive so far to do mandatory face time. Also paying for parking passes kind of suck but that's not a PLS thing that's a STL thing. This job isn't for everyone. it takes some grit to hang in there on the bad days when you are...

I have been working at PLS Logistics Services full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

    - Opportunity to build great relationships with customers and co-workers - Earning potential is up to you, entirely dependent on the work you put in - If you like competition, this is a good environment for you because every day has its own challenges and adversity you will face - Building a respectful book of business is not an easy thing to do, in turn, doing so is a great accomplishment!

    Cons

    - If you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen. This is not a cookie cutter millennial's job. You have to work, you have to grind. It will be mentally taxing, and you have to keep pushing. Giving up is easy, continuing to grind is the hard part, where winners are made. - It is an entry level position, so you are not going to walk in and become rich overnight. You have to work for it. - If you cannot handle things...

    Pros

The environment here at PLS is great. It is a fast moving and there is always something different happening thought out your day . If you put in the work learning the system and WANT to sell you will succeed with flying colors.

    Cons

Personal I do not think there are any Cons. But if you are not good at multitasking and do not like to put fourth the effort this is not the job for you.

I have been working at PLS Logistics Services full-time for more than a year

    Pros

A lot of these reviews are correct in that, like any other job if you don't work hard you will not find success. This position is unique in that if you do work hard, you can have a tremendous amount of success. This job does involve cold calling and sales because that's how you build your book of business. They've recently revamped their sales training program to better prepare young reps for the transition into running...

    Cons

For me, the beginning transition to running my own book was a bit difficult. However, as I mentioned they are revamping that process and providing more in-depth training for that process.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to continue to work on preparing new reps for when they start working on their own books. There has been a lot of progress made since I started in this area, but obviously, nothing is ever perfect.

    Pros

I can honestly not think of any pros, besides the lack of management leads to absolutely no micro management of my time or efforts. Kudos to the management free work environment your trying out.

    Cons

To start management; or should I say lack there of... To expand, any given day the satellite office manager can hardly find more than 4 hours to spend in the office... on the days he is in which is only 3 maybe 4 a week. When he does find the time to make an appearance in the office he cannot find the time to make with his employees. Advice to Management

    1) When you make a commitment, follow threw on it. Whenever an incentive program or event takes place, the employees do their part but when it comes down to PLS paying up their end, they never do, or find some reason why they shouldnt have to. Or the infamous "double or nothing on the next comp". 2)Spread the wealth. Why are your chairman's clubs and your strategy summit teams always consisting if the same people without...
