    I worked at PLS full-time

    Pros

The pay coming on board was decent. Other than that, I can't think of anything good to say.

    Cons

This O&G company is a mill. They run through employees at an astonishing rate. The environment is unprofessional and many of the people there are in roles they aren't actually qualified for. The CEO is sabotaging his own company with his capricious and tempestuous disposition. Also, the company has no HR department which should be a huge red flag to anyone thinking of applying.

    Advice to Management

The CEO needs a class in effective management. He doesn't treat his employees like he actually cares about them regardless of blustering to the contrary.

    No advice; they don't listen.

    Pros

Good place to learn a lot about O&G.

    Cons

The company has a very poor management structure and is a lot of times a fairly hostile environment. Employees are not respected or appreciated in any way shape or form.

    Pros

None unless you like being used alot.

    Cons

Its terrible communication... Racist... Favoritism.. and they plain don't care if you have a life outside the job.

    Advice to Management

Quit covering everything up for the higher ups... we couldn't even ask questions at our meetings unless they were approved by the dm... So much for wanting to know what was in our minds.

    Pros

The pay was decent to start.

    Cons

The hours were terrible. Plus management was unprofessional. They hired anyone who made them look good. But most of their employees were very creepy. I got out as soon as I could.

    Pros

you need a job to pay the bills, while diligently searching for something (anything) better.
Dozens, perhaps hundreds of products / services, new ones seemingly generated by the week - company has no idea how to capitalize on them.

    Cons

Very low pay, as close to minimum wage as possible. If existing work could be outsourced to middle school kids, management would do it instantly.
No idea how to market, sell - completely haphazard process.
Hiring a UT bachelors in science at $25 / hour.
No organizational structure of any kind.
No strategy, short or long term.
Where is the company headed? Goals? No one has a clue.

    Advice to Management

Please do yourselves, staff and clients a huge favor - get comprehensive psychological treatment. I believe in your heart you know you need it - it'll benefit you and your firm immensely.

"Someone mixed up the PLSs, this logo is Petroleum Listing Services, nicknamed PLS and the CEO is Ronyld Wise"

    Pros

Convenient Galleria location, free snacks, paid lunches once in a while, paycheck and bare bones medical insurance covered, if you're just started out in a career, this place can be OK for a year or two but MOVE ON as soon as you can.

    Cons

Nepotism rampant with the kids of the friends of the owner (they're the ones who get the bonuses, even if they produce no work), no consistent review policy, no pathway to advancement, owner doesn't believe that his employees are entitled to lives of their own, people in positions of "management" mismatched to those roles and failing miserably but swept under the rug because admitting a mistake was made would lessen the almighty perception of power of the owner, petty ugly culture of in-office degradation in front of co-workers by the owner and certain managers, constantly changing priorities to the point where you don't have any clue why or what you're doing.

    Advice to Management

Since everyone in a management position at PLS thinks they're totally awesome and flawless, no advice, none would be heeded anyway.

I have been working at PLS full-time

    Pros

There are no shift supervisors, there are no shifts, and the workforce is VERY diverse, Also, we don't hire non-college graduates (except for a few clerical people and interns who mainly go to Rice and UH) and many of the staff have advanced degrees. These reviews seem to have been written by people who, frankly, don't sound educated. I doubt racism would ever come up as an issue at PLS. I have no idea what these other reviews are reviewing but it is definitely NOT the PLS Inc. in Houston which owns this logo.
I work there and while it has its problems for sure, it is certainly not racism or being mistreated by supervisors on shift work which doesn't even exist.

    Cons

Glassdoor.. you are NOT using the right logo.
