    I have been working at PMC-Sierra full-time

    Pros

Good group of people to work with. Pay is good. Hours can be reasonable most of the time.

    Cons

Management is disconnected from D2D. Company is generally cheap and does not budget to scale segments of business which are growing.Company is heavily influenced by Mgmt in Canada and feels like a Canadian national company.Recognition for employee performance is a joke when compared to other companies of similar size or larger.

    Advice to Management

All of the old Management is on the way out with Microsemi acquisition so problem #1 solved. Try investing in your employees and providing true incentives you will honor.

I have been working at PMC-Sierra full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

good for contractors,self-contractors, good for MARATHI mother-tongue and MARATHI speaking folks. Better to work in a project which involves global team rather than local team.

    Cons

monotonous work will be there for months and years, No growth in career, Bangalore management does a lot of politics. Promotion ladder is there majorly for those who resign and blackmail. Hardwork and talent have no more values here.

    Advice to Management

Head quarters should involve in Bangalore team management activities to ring-out the wild bells.

    Pros

no work, so you can start your own business alongside. Well established clouts for MARATHI and TAMIL speaking people. Try your luck.

    Cons

Too much of clout culture allows survival without doing any real work. No recognition for hard work and talent. You should be good in dodging work than doing work. Talented employees leave the company asap, so difficult to find any good people around to work with learn from.

    Advice to Management

local management is hopeless, no point in advising. Global management should start taking bold decisions.

    I have been working at PMC-Sierra full-time

    Pros

Interior decor - glazed tiles, lush carpeting and celebrations & events in the name of
    team building

    Cons

--Despicable form of management ** managers have scant or almost no idea of the work they
manage and engage in ludicrous and grotesque decision making often subverting the process of project execution

-- management craftily form coteries of sub-standard employees spawning dire mediocrity for
their self-serving reasons and brazenly snitch the credit for success realized by real technical
people thus jeopardizing the very bedrock and ethos of excellence - the resultant scenario is
an exodus of qualified people from the company leaving behind a residue of an unimaginable
    embodiment of ordinariness

--senior management in north america seem to be in oblivion - as inexperienced and
unqualified managers go up the ladder leaving serious minded technical people in utter
    despair

    Advice to Management

is this acceptable ? north american management should surveil the divison in bangalore.

lot of office politics in Bangalore centre.
if you are from Maharashtra , then only you will be given preference .
Make people slog like any thing because of their bad decisions .
I would not prefer in this kind of working environment and would not recommend anyone!

    Pros

Lots of fun and no work - if you consider that as a pro!

    Cons

Worst management I have seen in my 15 year career. Total lack of direction and most people who end up becoming managers are good at boot licking and usually from Maharashta. Technical skills is not a prerequisite to work in PMC, Bangalore. Join if you are sure that you never want to get hired by another company post your PMC days...

    Advice to Management

Clean up the Bangalore site if you are really serious of an India R&D site

I have been working at PMC-Sierra full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    * Process oriented work
    * Cab facility

    Cons

    * Unprofessional Management: WORST management you will ever find in semiconductor industry. Consequently, the level of attrition is very high with virtually all decent engineers leaving the Bangalore division.
    * Desperate and insecure management resorting to cheap and unprofessional ways to promote nepotism. Regionalism abound and people from Maharashtra and in and around Nagpur being promoted to safeguard the empire of utterly incompetent managers/engineers
    * North American management turning a blind eye to these activities in Bangalore despite knowing very well the problems.
    * North American management secretly wants Bangalore to do bad/mediocre, local Bangalore management actually INTENDS to look like bunch of jokers so that its position is secure
    * Result is all round mediocrity, a circus run by local management where engineers join and leave every single week with no long term vision. It is like enrichment in centrifuge. Engineers come and go and the workforce gets enriched by people from Maharashtra in the process with ever increasing share of people in an around Nagpur over time. NA management is smoking pot meanwhile.
    * No point in joining PMC-Sierra Bangalore with a long term career. For short term, you can consider it and if you do join, bargain hardest for remuneration as management will agree as not many engineers choose PMC Bangalore.

Lastly, PMC-Sierra is struggling hard overall with lay-offs and lost projects. It makes no sense to join such an unprofessional organization unless you can't find a job anywhere else.

    Advice to Management

Wake up and take some tough steps to fix the mess in Bangalore center
