I worked at PNC Financial Services Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Decent benefits, some flexibility, bonus for a job well done should be higher

    Cons

Some branch managers should work in a different capacity. Some branches are stressful and understaffed. Some are not busy and much less stressful.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees and identify where turnover trends are.

    Pros

Some management is good. Benefits are decent 401k, pension and HSA

    Cons

Company is not as loyal to employees as they expect employees to be to them. I was a very good employee, always had excellent reviews, never late for work. Moved out of state and the culture with PNC is different here and because I knew more than the converted RBC management I was not given the opportunity to move into a position in my new state. Knowing how they shut me down I would advise employees to do the bare minimum because they do not care about you at all. Zero loyalty. Bad culture. I had my eyes opened wide.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to the GOOD employees that work hard for you. Offer a job placement program for relocation

    Pros

Overall a fun environment to work in.

    Cons

Management looks down upon their employees and "gossips" about other team members. Very high turnover rate due to lack of good management skills. There is a lot of favoritism that occurs on the different teams. Management holds grudges against employees.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees the way that you would expect to be treated. Do not talk down to your team members - remember....you're the reason that you have a job in the first place.

I worked at PNC Financial Services Group full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

There are some really wonderful people working at PNC. But, so many of those people are leaving. Some leaving PNC specifically, others leaving the industry all together. There are some really great benefits including the maternity/parental leave offerings and competitive vacation time. A few departments offer some work/life balance options like working from home.

    Cons

Salaries are below market, and annual increases are at times insultingly low. Weird rules about not getting raises for promotions if you've had other recent raises. Makes it very discouraging for current employees looking to grow. In the last few years they have been undergoing a huge cost-cutting effort in order to make stockholders happy but it has resulted in employee engagement tanking. Squeezing the turnip dry with getting more and more work assigned to less and less people.

    Advice to Management

You were once a company focused on employee engagement but seem to be letting that slide in order to increase profit margins. Those employees make those profits happen - wake up.

    Pros

Work flow not too much and staff and coworkers are really friendly. Your clients are not as needy

    Cons

Can be boring doing the same thing day to day. You don't really get compensated that well.

    Advice to Management

Give more bonuses and incentives to do well and get work done faster. With reworks you get screwed over by implantations and implementations should take the down fall

    Pros

Great job to get into the financial industry.
Branch location can affect your overall experience.
Pay is good If you're single with very obligations.

    Cons

Requires frequent shifting of sales & administrative tasks which is cool but some days it can be mentally trying. Focusing on just the sales or admin would be prefered but it's not that bad.

    Advice to Management

Create or encourage more camaraderie within the branches. When the team is on one page it cuts out a lot of misunderstanding and makes the team feel better doing about their job
