I have been working at PNC Financial Services Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Personal achievement is rewarded and recognized by superiors. Personal life is prioritized. One of the best companies for working moms. Mentoring program helps making dreams possible.

    Cons

There could.be better health insurance program as well as better base salary compare to similar positions in the sector.

    Advice to Management

Do your best to keep your objective approach for continues employee engagement.

I have been working at PNC Financial Services Group full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great people, good leadership, track record of success. Truly value their clients.

    Cons

Moving more towards the big bank mentality, which goes against our history and culture.

    Advice to Management

Don't try to be Wells Fargo or BofA. PNC was built on the right balance between driving for results and success, and valuing the client and be sure not to lose that focus.

I have been working at PNC Financial Services Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Wonderful people to work with
    - Relaxed atmosphere
    - Good pay/benefits
    - 'b!tch-fests' w/ mgmt actually occur

    Cons

    - Lack of communication all around
    - Reactive, not proactive. Any 'solution' is always 12mo+ out.
    - work-life balance is a joke. staff they need aren't there = more on existing employees..
    - career path is given but a glance. More likely to be shoe-horned into where they need you and then it becomes 'yours' (no ask, no discussion)

    Advice to Management

Realize that 'one-size-fits-all' ideas rarely work: splitting teams, that *should* be whole, only leads to lack of communication and direction. End the politics (I know, unicorns), it only rolls down-hill. Get agile vs. constantly playing catch-up on 11th hour work. Get the documentation down (see AGILE), you're brain drain is atrocious. Refactor existing (crap) code, cut the QA time/bugs WAY down.

I have been working at PNC Financial Services Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Very stable work environment. Decent benefits.

    Cons

Poor pay and extremely stodgy IT infrastructure.

    Advice to Management

PNC's technology infrastructure makes working there as a developer very painful. PNC isn't a technology company, it's a bank.

I have been working at PNC Financial Services Group part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Promotion opportunities, recognition, raises when deserved, team oriented, very high corporate support, flexible hours. I work for a great team, it may not be the same management or team characteristics at other locations.

    Cons

Very product knowledge demanding, sales matter to an extreme. This could be a good thing, depends on your perception. Not a job to sit and study for class. No benefits for part-time.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what your doing, continue to show support and recognition towards the teller team.

I have been working at PNC Financial Services Group as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

PNC has a great company culture, excellent upper management and is willing to spend the time to mentor interns and show them the ropes!

    Cons

Sometimes they seem a bit hesitant of overworking interns, so they end up not giving us enough work! It comes from a good place because they want interns to like the company, but we want to learn and don't mind juggling a lot of work.

    Advice to Management

Utilize the interns to their full capacity, we can handle heavier workloads!
