I worked at PNC Financial Services Group (Less than a year)

    Pros

You get to work with money and TEACH YOURSELF how to be a banker.

    Cons

Training was all over the place, they would cancel then rearrange then double book and cancel again. All they care about is hitting quota on how many credit card, mortgage, loan and checking and savings apps you put in/got approved. They would threaten with firing if and wage garnishment is quota was not met. They don't care about people finances and contrary to their TV advertisements, the customers and the employees ARE JUST A NUMBER.

    Advice to Management

Get everybody trained in the appropriate time frame in the appropriate order. Set your employees up for success and appreciate their work and they will succeed. DON'T micromanage and threaten employees and definitely DON'T treat people like a dollar sign.

I have been working at PNC Financial Services Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Decent people to work with.

    Cons

advancing is next to impossible. there isn't an objective balanced internal application process. It's all about whose butt you kiss.
There is no internal HR department. All of it is outsourced and you have to use your own time to deal with work related HR issues from Paycheck problems to FMLA to applying to internal positions.

    Advice to Management

How about actually being on the job. There are no managers to be found after 4PM.

Give a little thought to employee moral. It's very discouraging when you're in "red plan" which means your having higher than normal call volume and being swamped with calls to have the manager standing around at the end of your row laughing and carrying on about the recent sports game. The management is NEVER on the same page with the front line employees.

    Pros

The training is amazing you get before you start in the branch. The branch manager would take every one out for a holiday party.

    Cons

The benefits are not good at all for what you pay. They just want to to sell more to the client and don’t care about the service to the client. They want the big money and will tell you to not open small account for people

    Cons

Where do I start?! It is all about the mighty dollar then their customers, try to rein them in like sheep for services they can not afford or want.

I have been working at PNC Financial Services Group full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Flexibility to work at home is about the only pro for working with PNC. At one time they offered overtime, but have since hired more employees instead.

    Cons

No incentives, no advancement, no overtime or bonuses. Raises are a maximum of 1.5% even if you are a top performer.

    Advice to Management

Higher pay and opportunities to advance

I worked at PNC Financial Services Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Honestly I didn’t enjoy working for this company at all. I guess the people I worked with were the best part.

    Cons

Sales pressure, low pay, having to work weekend hours, ever changing management and personnel, inconsistent expectations, lack of proper training for new employees

    Advice to Management

They need to work on training of new employees and consistency in expectations, management and personnel. Turnover rate is extremely high. Pay is minuscule.
