    Pros

Management is phenomenal! Pay is decent for a college student. Very good part-time job. Very flexible about vacation and sick time

    Cons

benefits are not very generous. Would be a lot nicer if there was employer matching for 401k. benefits are really only downfall.

    Advice to Management

You're doing a good job but the only thing I would change would be to have 401k matching. Proud to be a PPG employee

I have been working at PPG full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great training program so far, they really make sure you are ready to take on the challenge of running your own store. Large company with plenty of room for advancement if you are willing to work hard.

    Cons

You must be willing to relocate or they will not hire you. Unfortunate if you would like to stay where you are at, but that is all part of the job.

I have been working at PPG full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

People who work hard are given plenty of opportunities for advancement. Employees are generally treated very well and with a lot of respect. People who work here tend to stay for a long time, often their entire career - for good reason.

    Cons

The corporate culture is very conservative, and PPG has a few of the same issues that other international companies face - business units can be pretty segmented.

    Advice to Management

Keep encouraging employee growth and development.

    Pros

Great development opportunities, cross training opportunities, exposure to other business units, great support from corporate, very stable company, annual bonuses to all levels of employees, supportive local management.

    Cons

Lean organization in the plants from an EHS perspective, base pay can be lower than expected if you don't research your market value, acquisitions need to be integrated sooner rather than much later, offer advancement opportunities for EHS outside of corporate headquarters.

    Advice to Management

Improve acquisition integration and provide more support at the plant level for EHS.

I have been working at PPG full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Focused on advanced education and diversity, both culturally and gender. Allows you to express ideas and attempt to make them a reality.

    Cons

Reward programs are there but not utilized in the best manner. A lot of middle and tiered management, which in turn creates a lot of silos and loss in productivity.

    Advice to Management

Implement programs to reduce the silos and tribal knowledge. That will cut time in reinventing the wheel.
