I worked at PRA Group full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Easy base check, hour lunch, show up and try on every call and you should do fine as far as bonus.

    Cons

Management is at times poor, organization is not great. Quality may ding you for things you never were taught. Be prepared for super irate customers, bonus structure constantly changes

    Advice to Management

Be more organized, stick to a certain criteria, you change too much. No favorites, either increase base pay and due away with bonus or increase bonus structure and dont change. Train longer.

I worked at PRA Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

A great amount of talented people at the individual contributor and first line manager level.
Good pay, although if employees actually realized the pay differences between people in the same position who do the same work, there would be a mutiny, particularly in IT.

    Cons

There is an incredible amount of blame gaming both within departments and between departments. When problems arise, people hold meetings in advance to figure out how to position it as not being their department's fault instead of tackling the issues.

No one takes ownership of anything because they want the option to blame another group if something fails. Morale as a result is very low. It's very obvious even at the individual contributor level that C-Suite employees openly dislike each other. The only way to succeed is to play political games and be an expert in manipulation.

The guys who ultimately run the company, CEO and President, seem to be unaware of how toxic the environment is, almost assuredly because their directs ONLY paint rosey pictures and they don't seem to have to time to really find out how poorly run the company is below them. The "collaborative" environment the company claims to have doesn't actually exist.

Within IT itself, senior leadership seems to spend a good amount of time on their own egos and making sure they aren't to blame for any of the issues, even on their own teams. Most of them don't even know how the business works even though they've been here for 2+ years. The only thing worse than being in IT is having to deal with the software side of IT from the outside.

    Advice to Management

Look beyond the C-Suite if you really want know what's going on in the company and what can be done to fix it. There are plenty of quality dedicated people who work tirelessly for the company, only to be squashed and silenced by political game playing. Stop letting your directs manipulate you. Just because they use words like "collaboration", "agile" "transformation", etc. does not mean they really know how to apply them. The best thing you could do for the company and its shareholders is to purge the company at its higher levels and start fresh.

    Pros

Great co-workers, very talented people. Great place to get learn and grow but not long term

    Cons

Management seems more concerned with talking using buzz words rather than learning the business in order to deliver actual work. Recent management change over put in place management that treated the best workers very poorly leaving them no option but to leave.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to the people who are actually your most talented and treat them accordingly.
