I worked at PRA Health Sciences full-time

    Pros

I have worked at more than one CRO and PRA is leaps above some other CROs for employees (and for clients). Responsive HR. Good overall IT and systems. Project management was a great group to work with.

    Cons

Having some growing pains but growing at a reasonable rate to accommodate appropriate training.

I have been working at PRA Health Sciences full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The team is the best part about working here; they are the only thing that keeps me sane most days. My functional managers are extremely supportive and down to earth. PTO is really easy to schedule/they are willing to work with you as long as you set up your back-up ahead of time. We have weekly one-on-ones with our FMs which I think is really valuable.

    Cons

In this position, there is not a whole lot of opportunity for career development. The skills you learn are invaluable, and the longer you stay the more you learn, however, moving into a management position is pretty hard (there are only a few open) There are a ton of corporate deliverables, and then regular day-to-day tasks on top of that, and then ad-hoc tasks on top of that. The workload is way too much for one person to manage and feel like are able to give their best to all the things they are doing, which can be super discouraging.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to the work/life balance of your employees; or you'll continue to see turn-over. Remember that the amount of responsibilities that are placed on us are astronomical so its not fair to expect that everything will be perfect. If you cut down the level of things we are responsible for, you would probably see more quality work. Piling stuff on top of your hardest working employees because you know they'll get it done only causes tension and bitterness.

Get with the market and raise our pay to be comparable with other CROs.

I have been working at PRA Health Sciences full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I have worked in the pharmaceutical industry since I graduated college at various companies. PRA is by far my favorite company. It is so organized and it is run like a well-oiled machine. The management truly cares about the employees and they value a "work/life" balance. The compensation and benefits package cannot be beat. Many of my colleagues are celebrating their 5 and 10 year anniversaries, which says a lot. Once you work at PRA, you will not want to work anywhere else!

    Cons

There are no downsides to working at PRA. It is truly a wonderful place to work!

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the great work!

I have been working at PRA Health Sciences full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Decent benefits: PTO, health insurance, tuition reimbursement, if you get accepted by your co-workers they can be very fun to work with

    Cons

When at maximum workload capacity often times short staffed, during slow times your sitting around looking busy. No training on how to do your job! You learn by trial and error. Management can be extremely condescending. Some in management set you up to fail! Management will not work with to grow and will look for everything you did wrong to keep you down. Employee moral has improved within the last year but still sucks!

    Advice to Management

Get off your high horse and be more respectful to your employees. Being condescending to the point of being disrespectful is not a formula for success. By being more respectful and working to succeed instead of showing off will increase employee moral.

    Pros

Great company to work for with good benefits and great flexibility. As an embedded employee for a major Pharma company, you're sheltered and protected from all the sizing down and reorganizations that go on. My manager at PRA is supportive, open minded, fair, listens to my concerns and creates an open and honest work environment.

    Cons

My experience has been good - no cons at this time.

    Pros

Decisions made quickly, strategies employed instead of talked about.

    Cons

Not much focus on vision sharing.

Make mission and vision part of everyone's daily work.

I have been working at PRA Health Sciences full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Senior management is nice. Benefits are great. 4 weeks of PTO to start, health insurance is great and at a decent price, co workers are wonderful, on site gym, breakfast on Fridays, fun Christmas party

    Cons

Overworked and underpaid. Workload can be extremely stressful. They need to hire more workers to distribute work load better. Company pays less than market rate

    Advice to Management

Give bonuses and hire more workers
