I worked at PRACS Institute (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There were no pros to this organization

    Cons

Management drove company into the ground because they were greedy. Overworked with ridiculous timelines and expectations. Reality sunk in and everyone abandoned ship.

    Advice to Management

Look at the writing on the wall. Don't use equity investors to fund contract regulatory work. Why would the owner buy back thru bankruptcy except to finagle his equity back only to resell again.

    Pros

Coworkers were fantastic, schedule was flexible, building was very nice. The pay was excellent in comparison to the job responsibilities and the supervisors were understanding and worked with you if you had school schedules.

    Cons

It closed down with no notice and we all lost our jobs. Subjects were not paid for past studies and it was very frustrating to have been mislead for several months prior to the bankruptcy.

    Advice to Management

It would have been nice to been given a honest answer when discussing the future of the company and our current outlook. Instead we were told at 8 am we'd be fine and it was all working out, and at 3:15 pm to go home and not come back.

I worked at PRACS Institute full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great salary for our area. Co-workers, other than management, are amazing. The CEO empowers his team and does whatever he can for his employees. Great sense of having helped millions by the work we do.

    Cons

Terrible hours and frequently overworked. Middle management brought in from the outside is less than effective. Our culture didn't accept that at all. No leadership from them, mostly drill sergeant type ruling.

Pay, vacation, and sick leave were pretty good.

    Cons

Management was mediocre. There was no incentive to work hard.

    Cons

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

Extremely easy to find people to cover a shift
Get paid to train and you have six months to complete

    Cons

Most days requested off actually end up being scheduled.
Hours vary from zero to twenty depending on if studies follow through and are actually held

    Advice to Management

They should be able to do more than just an email to let people know a shift is canceled or any other change of events, not everyone watches their email like a hawk

    Pros

Amazing company that makes you feel worthwile and you can create good connections. There are alot of promotions from within. You get to see generic and namebrand medication get tested on participants and watch the study from start to finish. You can form friendships with fellow workers or with the participating volunteers. The management does a great job rewarding those who do well, and you'll always feel as though your work is appreciated. When rules or standards change, there are always meetings and you're kept well informed. You always feel like you can share your opinion and they will appreciate it.

    Cons

There is a high turnover rate because of the majority of college students that are in nursing programs that leave when their schooling is up and they move on. Because of this, there is a lot of training of new people that doesn't end up mattering too much.

    Advice to Management

    Nothing

    Pros

    just to earn some money

    Cons

not a place to learn something new

    Advice to Management

Try to hire some learned PhD level individuals especially as supervisor/manager//vice-president
