I worked at PRI part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I was a Work-Study student working part-time at PRI during the last semester. Everyone there was really nice and helpful, even if I made a mistake or two. They went out of their way to be friendly and to help me learn how to do my job. Also, I learned many things about fossils that I hadn't known before!

    Cons

None that I can think of.

    Advice to Management

    Stay amazing!

    I worked at PRI full-time

    Pros

    None that I'm aware of.

    Cons

Utterly toxic work environment. Extremely political. Hopelessly arrogant management, completely out of touch. Poor employee morale results in a revolving door of staffers with very short average tenure.

    Pros

The PRI has a very collaborative culture, for example there are regular sessions where staff share the learnings from different projects.

    Cons

There is a need to focus on the needs of the members rather than be driven by internal teams wishes.

    Advice to Management

Develop integrated campaign planning to get teams working together better.

An organisations for grown ups! Professional, mission driven yet relaxed at the same time. Great to gain some invaluable experience of working in a small but international organisation.

    Cons

Nothing that any organisation doesn't face.

I worked at PRI full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Important work in responsible investment and you feel that you make a difference

    Cons

really big agenda which does not mean its a con just progress can be slower than you would like it to be.

    Advice to Management

have more job opportunities for staff who move from London

I have been working at PRI full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Amazing colleagues, friendly and supportive atmosphere. Extremely accommodating re working hours and medical leave. Also willing to let staff take secondments (internal and external) and take training.

    Cons

Bad behaviour can go unpunished. It is a very trusting environment, which certain people will take advantage of.
One or two members of senior staff are useless.

    Advice to Management

Hold your staff accountable - for the good (which there is lots of!) but also the bad.
Recognise that more often than not it's the men that do the talking and get the credit, but it's the women who actually do the work.

I have been working at PRI full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It maybe what everyone says but the best things at the PRI are its people and its mission. Mainly young staff, vibrant, smart and committed.

    Cons

Really busy workload due to the number of topics it covers across the world

    Advice to Management

keep growing the team globally, it adds to the expertise

"Good opportunity to develop expertise in Responsible Investment"

    StarStarStarStarStar
    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee
    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee
    Recommends

    Pros

You work with highly qualified and motivated people who really believe in the positive impact of their job in promoting the principles for responsible investment to the financial market. It's a great workplace to develop expertise and knowledge on strategies that asset owners and asset managers from all over the world deploy to incorporate Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance factors into investment decisions and active ownership of assets. Responsible/Sustainable Investment is still a niche job market with few savvy professionals specialized in the area so the UNPRI provides a great opportunity to deepen your expertise in the field.

    Cons

The remuneration of the organization was not compatible with the qualification and experience required for the position, and the responsibilities and goals of the role.
