I have been working at PRIDE Industries full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The mission. Working for PRIDE Industries is deeply satisfying. It's great making a difference in people's lives.

    Cons

No raises on the site I work at. The pace is fast and the workload is large. Not always an easy job.

    Advice to Management

There are some people at the company who are not on board with the PRIDE mission. Cut them loose if they can't embrace helping others.

I have been working at PRIDE Industries full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Close to home. The work is easy. Great for people with disabilities, it gives them purpose, and gets some of them ready for the real world.

    Cons

Not here for the money, I'm making what I made 10yrs. ago!
Can be very stressful at times, and at this wage! A class for the clients wouldn't hurt either, some have no manners and can be very rude, and stop bullying.

    Advice to Management

Start paying attention to the workers who produce. Not the ones that milk it all day. Filter some money to the ones that do the work that keeps you in business.

I have been working at PRIDE Industries full-time

    Pros

I like the company mission to employ people with disabilities.

    Cons

They do not give raises. They give profit sharing but it is a fraction of what a raise would be. After 3 years I am only making .49 cents an hour more than when I started.

    Advice to Management

Compensate your workers! I barely make by with the salary I have. With increases of my rent, I need increases on my salary. Otherwise the company is awesome!

I have been working at PRIDE Industries full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The company is very focused on doing good by training and employing people with disabilities. As a non-profit, it is very good about plowing back money into the mission and supporting employees with disabilities as well as forming teamwork amongst those without disabilities at Corporate.

    Cons

There are no actual raises, just small bonuses that can be taken as part of regular pay.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work, but also consider adding a bit of merit raises to the overall strategy for keeping good employees over the years.

I have been working at PRIDE Industries full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexible hours. Very hard to get fired. Great mission. Good work/life balance.

    Cons

At corporate level mgmt doesn't hold people accountable for their work. No sense of team work. No sense of understanding what departments are functioning well, and what departments aren't.

    Advice to Management

Hold your managers responsible. When people continually screw up, fire them. Reward people who are doing well. Pay attention to numbers. What business decisions are profitable, and which aren't. Have a plan in place to move forward and stick to it. Don't get side-tracked by the next shiny object.

I have been working at PRIDE Industries full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

It is rare to find a company where the mission so deeply impacts the community. Employing people who have disabilities changes lives every day.

    Cons

As a non-profit, employees are often under paid and raises are almost non-existent. However, the environment is great and if you are passionate about working with people who have disabilities, this is the place to work.

    Advice to Management

Address compensation for your most valuable employees. Otherwise, you might loose them because other companies will pay more and give better benefits.
