I have been working at PSA Healthcare full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Very family oriented. Believes in promoting within and growing their employees. This is not just a business, PSA cares about its nurses and families. Believes in a work/home life balance.

    Cons

The money is lacking, you just have to love what you do. Not getting rich here. Benefits are not great and they are super expensive. This is not a 830-5pm job as advertised.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing! It works!

I have been working at PSA Healthcare part-time

    Pros

The schedules are flexible and schedule coordinator can assist you with any time off needed.

    Cons

No paid time off. Socioeconomic status may affect where you work. Having to get used to family if you are constantly getting new patients.

I have been working at PSA Healthcare part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Scheduling is great. Very flexible for working moms, students, etc.
You get a lot of different experience with trachs, vents, g-buttons, etc.
They are serious about training nurses, though some of the staff seem incompetent in teaching.
You WILL have hours. They constantly have a need.
They provide a free account with a site that provides CEUs.
You can accept or reject assignments as you need.
Scholarship available to those who want to continue their education.
Weekly pay. After-hour differential. Often offered a bonus to work specific patients.

    Cons

Sometimes the scheduler can be disorganized.
    Family member drama at times.
    No raises.
Training can be confusing depending on the instructor.
A couple of the management staff are disrespectful and/or rude.
Once I was thrown onto a new case with little information about the new patient, no medication list or clear instructions.

    Advice to Management

Organization please! Please treat all staff with respect. We need raises.

I have been working at PSA Healthcare full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexibility of schedule , decent pay

    Cons

Lack of honest communication from recruiters/office staff. Poor benefits (only limited medical plans, no paid vacation, no dental/vision). Working with same patient 30 hours weekly decreases skills used and learned.

    Advice to Management

Management listened to my concerns and was very professional

    Pros

Patient and family members are the best thing about this job.

    Cons

Office staff is very dishonest. A lot of CYA. Doesn’t back their nurses. Training is very short.

    Advice to Management

Clean cartersville office staff! Scheduler is deceitful. One story to nurse, one story to family. Do not back their nurses Surprise visits!

I worked at PSA Healthcare full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Kind friendly staff. Flexible hours. Overtime if desired. The other nurses were generally friendly and helpful.

    Cons

It didn't feel like there was a whole lot of support. Some locations were a considerable drive and there was no compensation for road time. Training was really brief.

    Advice to Management

I feel like a little more training would have gone a long way. Especially with a brand new nurse. Some of the nurses leaving their shifts did not give adequate information to ensure the next shift was good to go.
