I worked at PSAV full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

One of the largest companies of its type in the world. Tons of potential to be the very best if core values that are preached were actually practiced consistently and reached all employees equally.

    Cons

Unfortunately this company doesn't seem to understand that it's employees are its most valued asset. The message from upper management sure seems so, but its mostly smoke and mirrors as the employees suffer under the almighty profit margin expectations.

    Advice to Management

Instead of growing by purchasing companies all over the world try focusing on your core values, in your core country, and in your core business. The message is certainly there, prove that it makes it all the way down the line.

I worked at PSAV full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

good benefits, reasonable pay. Good support, good teamwork. Overall, not bad for such a large company.

    Cons

They dominate the market to the point of limiting your career options within a given market. In my market, for example, it's hard to advance your career since there are few other companies left to move to, and people get settled into their roles. So things stagnate. Even though it's a national company, each region's management can make or break a market's attractiveness. In the region I worked in, for example, employees feel very undervalued and morale has gotten very low compared to just 2 or 3 years ago.

    Advice to Management

Rotate your RVPs. They can stagnate a market. The PSAV market I worked in is very unhappy lately, mainly because employees are not allowed to choose their paths. Requests to apply for a specific position are often denied. Employees are simply reassigned to new positions, often without pay negotiations. Feels a lot like a monopoly, and people are leaving or trying to leave.

    I worked at PSAV part-time

    Pros

Good opportunity to grow knowledge and utilize teaching classes. also better chance of getting work due to slow A/V season

    Cons

Very strict on pay which means pay raises only result on due to moving position. Usually can get paid a lot more for the work you do for big named clients.

    Advice to Management

    Take care of your employees...
