    I worked at PSAV full-time

    Pros

In small hotels - easiest job ever. Setup meeting rooms and wait for hours. In larger properties you are always busy but you set up a lot of cool shows and conferences!

    Cons

Not a guaranteed full time paycheck in the slow season :( the only reason I changed jobs

    Advice to Management

You Rock! Really it was an honor working for PSAV and it's an awesome company.

I have been working at PSAV full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Job security, chance for advancement, great experience to take to another employer.

    Cons

Long hours, often feast or famine as the convention industry is only about 9 months a year. PSAV has really focused on the bottom line as of recent and at the end of the day it is hurting management compensation packages. Salaried employees will work 60-80 hours a week in peak months. PSAV gets horrible name because hotels are greedy and want so much free money from the PSAV money tree. Up the wages to hourly and take care of them when business drops so that the good ones don't leave.

    Advice to Management

Negotiate realistic contracts with hotels, the money we paid to them is stupid insane, reduce that and get prices more in line and it will keep all the other companies out of the hotel business and hotels will make more money.

I have been working at PSAV full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

If you're a competent employee there are plenty of opportunities to grow your career. The world quite literally is your oyster and, if you're in good standing and are willing to move you can move up the ladder quickly.

    Cons

The smaller markets can often stagnate at the management level offering very few opportunities for career growth.
The company is so large now, we are governed by a spreadsheet. The emphasis used to be on our clients and service was paramount. Now, sadly, profit (EBITDA) is king and our goals are getting more and more aggressive/unattainable.

    Pros

PSAV is a great way to get in the door as an audio visual technician. There's hands on training from upper management as well as monthly training(s).

    Cons

Once you get into management such as a director, the job can be very stressful. There can be a lot of pressure put on you from the hotel.
