I have been working at PSAV full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Went into the accelerated sales development program (ASDP) right out of college which is a 8 week fast track to the sales manager role. I had quite a lot of sales internships and experience prior to applying, so make sure you have a decent resume if you apply to the program. The 8 week training program was an invaluable experience that I recommend to anyone wanting to get into sales and the Event Technology industry. The skills and knowledge I have acquired from the program will help me in any career path I end up in. Everyone I work with is extremely helpful, kind, and enjoys their job with PSAV. I know it varies by location, but for myself and most of the people in my ASDP group that has been the general experience. Very generous base pay and commission plan for college graduates, just need to be willing to put in the work and hours! Many career advancement opportunities and an awesome company culture. It is the AV industry which is entertainment, so most of the time the people you work with are more chill and relaxed, but like to get business done and appreciate hard work when it is needed.

    Cons

-Slow seasons in the hotel sales services can be long and boring days... but hey you are still getting paid!
-Will work over the 40 hours a week they say you do, but sometimes less.
-HR and the hotel locations could be in better touch with each other.

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing your thing!

I worked at PSAV part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You walk up to 15 miles a day....

    Cons

In Nashville at Opryland Hotel... was bait and switch. Hired to engineer sound, made to be roadie doing multiple setups and teardowns every day at all hours, unloading trucks etc at $15 a hour. Advice...drive for Lyft and Uber, make as much money without destroying your body.

    Advice to Management

Need a whole new corporate culture.

    I worked at PSAV full-time

    Pros

Learned a lot about all aspects of hotel AV. Some days were very low business levels and were not stressful at all. Very active job, kept me in shape. Over 4 years I went from $13/hr to $18/hr.

    Cons

Very low starting pay for such a skilled job. Unexpected long day sometimes lasting 12 hours. Some shifts start at 6am. Low pay sometimes creates low morale and therefore makes working with everyone hard at times. Can be stressful when very busy.

I worked at PSAV full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, the operations of the hotel properties are organized, there are hundreds of properties in each state and across the world.

    Cons

No work life balance, upper Management treats employees like slaves, work 87 hours one week. Old equipment, low salaries, the Walmart of AV.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees as if they are human and with respect not like they are expendable robots. Remember Flex 7 and use it with employees too!

I worked at PSAV full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

PSAV has partnered with a large number of beautiful hotels. Visiting the properties to create events offered a chance to work in some beautiful ball rooms and venues.

    Cons

PSAV is a very corporate, scripted type of environment. They are focused more on their tech's offering "world class" service, than offering technical solutions. They reward people with quick advancement, and are particularly fond of slick talkers over hard workers with integrity who care about their work.

    Advice to Management

Recognize and reward skill and knowledge. Realize that there is more than one right way to do something. Practice what your preach.

I worked at PSAV full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The people you work with are nice.
    They have free Soda.
    Office space is very modern.
    Free coffee and tea.

    Cons

    Culture is absolutely terrible.
They pay is terrible for the amount of work you are expected to do.
No real potential for growth, career path is none existent.
Management is really cheap with the budgets, you have to literally type a five page essay about the "return on investment" if you need to travel or miss a day for meetings with suppliers.
So much negativity from everyone around you about how much they hate working for the company.
Bring up concerns to management and they flip it on you and ask what YOU could be doing better to avoid the issues concerning you.
Often held accountable for the shortcomings of other departments.
A lot of people in management roles that do not know how to manage people. Company needs to understand that great employees do not equal great managers. Seen a lot of talented people leave due to their managers inability to lead and take care of their direct reports.

    Advice to Management

Seriously, all the talk about caring about your employees and investing all this money on making PSAV a better place to work is getting old. No changes have been made, the surveys are a joke. You want to retain top talent? Start treating them with respect and recognize the hard workers.
