I have been working at PSEG for more than 8 years

    Pros

Good benefits, great people, good overall company with good culture and values. Great corporate steward.

    Cons

Slow progression, lacks accountability and performance management for poor performers, inequitable payment for employees (based on time with company not what is offered in terms of work product and input)

I worked at PSEG full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The pay was decent, good people to work with, good benefits, bonuses were available to earn, supervisors could earn overtime.

    Cons

Long hours, non-paid professional time for exempt employees, only fixed what was absolutely necessary for the plant to run, poor technical references, they expected teams to perform function of much larger groups ( undermanned). Poorly managed overall.

    Advice to Management

Provide people the personnel necessary to get the job done. You can't hold people accountable for not meeting the team goals if you don't provide the tools and guidance to do so.

I have been working at PSEG

    Pros

Good benefits, decent salary, people are ok, very difficult to get fired

    Cons

Impossible to inspire, get noticed, create changed, or be rewarded for ACTUAL hard work

    Advice to Management

Take notice of employees who are consistently going out of their way to save the day, and reward them. Doing nothing is a sure way to de-motivate them.
