I have been working at PSEG full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good work life balance Alot to learn if you have a good manager who supports you which is hardly the case

    Cons

Nepotism; weak leadership and no young engineer wants to stay more than couple of years at this place. It is dead. And once the projects are done they will slowly lay off people without causing any media hype.

    Advice to Management

You need to step up and witness who is working and who is only talk.

I worked at PSEG full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good pay, learn a lot in short period of time.

    Cons

busy life, no work-life balance. HR is dysfunctional. Managers are afraid to lose their job and will step on your head if necessary. Bonus is offered but managers will do and say as much as they can so you don't get it.

    Advice to Management

Be more human, have more ethics, more honor and dignity. don't sell out your people and work with your subordinates. they are not your slaves.

I worked at PSEG full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great pay and benefits. Very stable.

    Cons

On call engineering schedule is bad for work life balance. Get called in for stupid things, sometimes to sit around all night. Procedures are frustrating and tedious.

    Advice to Management

Provide some work from home opportunities on occasion, and especially while on call.

I have been working at PSEG for more than a year

    Pros

Good work-life balance. Low stress, rare instances where OT is required. Many friendly, knowledgeable and experienced employees.

    Cons

HR is very stern about advancement and required experience. Very dull office environment spiced up only by holiday decorations. Traffic in the area spikes at 4:00 pm on the dot.

    Advice to Management

Try and cater to your employees. Wages aren't as competitive as they used to be and many employees are bound to leave for environments with such a lack of culture.
