I have been working at PSI Services part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The people are amazing, the office is taken care of really well.

    Cons

It takes 2 years to get benefits or full time, and there isn't any growth opportunity.

I worked at PSI Services part-time

    Pros

    Proctors aren't micro-managed by supervisor.

    Cons

Pay isn't commensurate with job description and expectations. Employees are kept at part-time status so there are no benefits.

    Advice to Management

Proctors are the backbone of the company. Increase pay and give better raise increments, offer benefits and full-time pay.

I worked at PSI Services full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

I worked for this company for almost 10 years, really great to work for a company that will work with you on any time off needed or extended vacations. Great benefits and vacation accrual.

    Cons

In the time that I worked there, I had 5 bosses. The training (or lack there of) is something that is in definite need of review, as I was constantly training my 'boss' how to do their job. Company wide they do not have good documentation for training in any facet of the company. High turn around on the call center(s) made it difficult to put the best 'face forward' to the applicants calling in to schedule their testing appointments. This again would have been addressed by better documentation and training. Also there were many times the company literally was segregated to department. If someone needed help with something but was in a different department and you had nothing going on, you literally were told not to help them. Where's the 'team' in that? It was impossible to know who worked for what department, or who's job it was to do various tasks. It made it EXTREMELY difficult to resolve issues when you had no idea who the person was or what their role within the company was. Additionally I found it almost disgusting how some of the long time clients were treated cause of their lower testing volumes. This only boils down to the greed the company was focused on, since most of these clients I worked with required very little from us and had virtually no reports or issues (cash cow). I would not go back to work for this company even if they double my salary based off of the cons over the years. Most of the people working there are not happy, and just sort of 'show up to fill a seat'.

    Advice to Management

Document, document, document. Train, train and retrain! The company should have a 'team-oriented' goal in mind, not be segregated to departments. Also should have a company listing and job titles included so it is easier to resolve issue(s) that come in or amongst departments.

I worked at PSI Services part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You get to meet a lot of people, company trainings are very casual but informational, day-to-day schedule is pretty consistent, and you never work on a Sunday.

    Cons

Customers can sometimes be very rude or entitled, lots of rules and regulations to remember, sometimes communication between the state boards and PSI is faulty, and you often have a lot of down time in the afternoons/evenings.

    Advice to Management

Consistency is key, and when employees don't pull their own weight, disciplinary action should be taken immediately to prevent them from taking advantage of the situation.

"Some executives and managers lack skill and integrity"

I worked at PSI Services full-time

    Pros

Most top executives have integrity and are competent. The company is growing. The HR department is pretty good. Employee amenities are good.

    Cons

A few top executives need improvement. Some low-level managers are a disaster, lacking management skills, courtesy, honesty, and integrity, costing the company money due to turnover. Some top executives weren't forthcoming with reimbursements that were promised in writing, and purportedly have not honored some verbal reimbursement commitments.

    Advice to Management

Do a better job of vetting and training PSI executives and managers. Formalize policies and procedures, especially those relating to human resources and reimbursements made during hiring, lest you foster a culture lacking integrity that trickles down and accumulates with the low-level managers.
