I worked at PSI Services part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They pay above minimum by two or three dollars.
The schedule is very routine so it's easy to find work elsewhere to fill in your weekly hours.

    Cons

If you're a proctor and not in corporate, you don't get enough hours to live on.
They don't hire many people so you'll have to manage an entire office either alone, or with one other person, which can be a problem because if you're sick and you're the only one working at an office there's no one to sub in for you.

    Advice to Management

Expand your hours of operation for the convenience of candidates, and hire more people as a contingency plan in case of accidents or illness befalling your employees.

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at PSI Services part-time

    Pros

Flexibility. You almost make your own schedule, though excessive tardiness and absences will get you fired.

Also lots of downtime. You get paid to sit around.

    Cons

No room for advancement or higher pay

    Advice to Management

Pay more attention to what is going on at your sites and don't be afraid to reward good behavior, and promote advancement

I have been working at PSI Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Decent Pay
    Scheduling
    Nice Support
    Promising ideas

    Cons

Job is quite boring and too easy
They didn't know the qualifications of their employees

    Advice to Management

Needs to take more ideas from low level employees as they have the most knowledge about operations
You have to set a future plan for the career path of your lower employees
You should not take the team load position from one of the trainees, it would create chaos
You should review your current employees' resumes

  6. "Not bad for Part-Time Employment"

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee in Honolulu, HI

    Pros

    Easy work in general
Most exams are computer based with the exception of a few old fashioned paper exams being conducted once in a long while.

    Cons

Depending on where the particular test center is located, particularly in what state/timezone and which day of the week/shift you are scheduled to work-Regional Supervisors, Customer Support & Technical Support may not be readily accessible.

Testing centers have no direct supervisors on location making communicating problems, issues in general difficult at times. Testing Centers only administer the actual exams, any problems experience from a Proctor must be escalated to a Regional Site Supervisor. Customer services and IT Technical support issues can also be affected by the testing center's locality demographics in the U.S. as well.

Proctors are only part time so don't expect any benefits period. Benefits are only offered to those lucky people working in the Administrative, Customer Support or Tech Support departments--BUT it's not a bad job which does offer flexibility.

    Advice to Management

Proctors need better support services to each individual testing center by Regional Site Supervisors regardless of test enter location.
