I worked at PSS World Medical full-time

    Pros

    - There are people that do care about team worker.

    Cons

    - There was no 3rd shift, you were working hours anywhere from 11-16 hours with one 30 minute break for lunch.
    - Leaders weren't reliable or trustworthy.
    - The work/life balance was none existent.
    - Sick days were difficult to take as well as vacation days. You'd get constantly harassed and would be degraded and mocked when returned to work.
    - Workers were always disrespected.
    - Pay rates should have been way higher.
    - Terrible work moral.
    - Pointless punishments.
    - Correct training doesn't exist.

    Advice to Management

I cannot speak for anyone or for other warehouses but this one warehouse was an abomination. I had never see so many people out or be fired from a single place at this volume as I had working at this company.

Under new ownership I can only hope that this company takes and treats the workers with the correct level of respect, dignity and pride. I hope that their pay is increased and that their work/life balance is finally balanced.

    Pros

Great environment to work in. The company goes above and beyond to make you feel like one of there own. Many great Perks.

    Cons

Some Favoritism is shown from the Management, which can be a bummer if your not the most like guy in the place. and since you dont leave until the work is done means alot of long hours.

    Advice to Management

alot of things go on in warehouse that a "Blind Eye" gets turned away from. you need to dig into things a bit and clean house.

    Pros

    Unique culture, some great people.

    Cons

Lack of clear career pathing/opportunities, salary below industry average.

    Advice to Management

Diversify - most of the executive management team have only worked at PSS their entire careers, which leads to a culture of "yes-men" and lack of fresh ideas.
