Pros
The culture is second to none...despite hard markets the company is still cranking.
Cons
The fully distributed work force can be taxing at times.

Pros
I joined because of the strong opportunity to join a fast growing company and strong culture engrained in the company. The business basically found pandemic-market fit with low interest rates + work from home culture that quickly dwindled in Q2. I still think its a fantastic idea and believe the company put customers above everything which is commendable. But this is a group of non-technical founders who believe they are building a "tech" company when in reality its a real estate play. The backbone of this company is the home manager, maintenance staff, and folk in the field -- without this, Pacaso is nothing. I'm proud of the work that me and my team were able to accomplish and ultimately drive great value for our customers.
Cons
This was not the right mix of leaders for this company. Generally pretty old school and didn't know how to manage execution at scale. Acquisitions/finance/accounting should be a data-driven and core competency of a business like this and it wasn't the case. So many homes that didn't need to be purchased, so much wasted dollars to close deals, and no accountability. It was apparent that leaders weren't aligned and a heavy reliance on middle management meant that no one owned the strategic direction for the company. Not to mention that when stress was high, executive leaders had bad tempers and let that get the best of them. Additionally, it felt like company "values" were only celebrated and evangelized when things were going well. Culture went down the drain as soon as the business wasn't doing as well. Additionally, there was a lack of a performance management process or support from my direct manager at all. Generally a lack of focus, discipline (like expanding to Europe), and high caliber talent was what was missing.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We value your perspective and are grateful for your contributions to Pacaso, and the amazing customers we serve. I am sorry to hear you did not have a positive experience during your time here. I appreciate that you highlighted our customer obsession and home operations team in the Pros. It’s true that the customer is our north star, and you are correct that Pacaso would be nothing without our Home Operations Crew. Great people are the foundation of any great business. I believe that the same is true of technology, which will continue to play a pivotal role in delivering great customer experience at scale. As for the constructive feedback, I want to clarify that we hold a high standard with respect to our values and data-driven decision making. As one example of how we drive accountability around core values and results, you may recall that our Weekly All Crew Meeting is structured very strategically to highlight business challenges, celebrate core value wins, and share our results transparently to drive alignment and accountability across all teams, consistently each week. That said, no company is perfect, and we will constantly strive to improve each day. Thank you again. Austin, Co-Founder and CEO

Pros
The entire crew is incredible. So hardworking, always giving 110%, but also really fun and amazing people that have become great friends. Although we're in a remote work environment, the cross-department collaboration is great and new ideas are always welcome. We meet in person with our individual teams and as a company once a year - which is always so fun and collaborative. Hard work is rewarded and the crew is very supportive of one another. I feel very empowered by my job and grateful to be a part of this amazing company!
Cons
If you are looking for a 9-5, this position isn't for you. I'm always available to my clients, doing tasks late into the evening and have tours/take calls on the weekends. However, that comes with the territory being in real estate and with that comes other flexibility you won't have with a 9-5.

Thank you very much for this review. I love that you cited your colleagues as the one of the best parts about working at Pacaso. I agree the Crew is amazing. I also appreciate your advice regarding communication. I agree this is a must as we scale. Please hold me and the other leaders accountable if you ever feel that we are not communicating clearly and consistently enough. Austin, Co-Founder and CEO

Pros
From the very first interaction on a call with a potential client, all the way to customer feedback after leaving a recent stay, this passionate team puts the consumer first and strives to make a positive impact in people's lives. I can't speak highly enough of the chemistry of the team and the product market fit of this mission.
Cons
Acquisitions and sales team misalignment on certain properties were a big miss at times and it created friction in the consumer experience. Testing is a critical component in a startup, and things do change quickly, but at times it felt like making a sale with concessions was prioritized more than the consumer's genuine interest in a specific property.

Thank you very much for this feedback and for your contributions to Pacaso. I appreciate that you speak so highly about our team, product market fit and mission. That means a lot! I also noted your constructive feedback about the sales and acquisitions team dynamic. There is a natural check and balance that exists between those departments, so a little bit of healthy tension is expected. That said; I will connect with the team and make sure that we are doing all that we can to communicate constantly and row together, consistent with the core values of our company. Thanks again. Austin, Co-Founder and CEO.

Pros
Other than remote work, nothing is coming to mind.
Cons
No 401k match, expensive health care premiums, extremely siloed teams. To expand further, the recent negative reviews are accurate. The revenue team is now very small and most have worked together at other companies. This has led to a ton of favoritism and keeping the wrong people in the wrong roles. Acquisitions is down to just two people. The working relationship between sales and acquisitions is nonexistent with both teams regularly pointing fingers for what is wrong. Several top executives have left or been forced out and the team “pivots” each month trying to solve the issues. The “macro environment” is regularly blamed, but these issues start with leadership.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I am sorry to hear you've had a negative experience at Pacaso, but I very much appreciate your feedback and take it seriously. Noted on your concerns raised regarding the lack of a 401k match, and healthcare premiums. We've improved our benefits packages every year and will continue to do so. Regarding your comments regarding siloed teams and cross functional collaboration, rowing together is a core value at Pacaso so I encourage you to reach out directly to your manager or the people team so we can learn more about where some of these perceived blockers are so that we can address them. Thank you again for taking the time to leave this review. Austin, Co-Founder and CEO.

Pros
Pacaso has been an amazing place to work. It is not only a fun team environment, but everyones voices and ideas are heard and feedback is welcomed. Everyone has the same goal and at times it can be a lot of work but everyone is always ready to get their hands dirty and help out! I feel completely supported by the leadership team and peers when it comes to both wins and opportunities. I couldn't ask for a better place to work!
Cons
The work load can be a lot at times, but it is also very rewarding.

Pros
Although my tenure at Pacaso was shorter than expected (I was laid off after 10 months) I loved my job and the people I worked with. Leadership was mission-driven and fostered a positive working environment. I would work with them again, particularly the folks in Product and Marketing, in a heartbeat.
Cons
Took one star off because there were some very clear research-supported opportunities that were passed over in favor of pet projects. I am happy to see that they seem to be incorporating some these now.

Pros
Pacaso was the best cultured company I have worked for! I really enjoyed my time there and felt like there was a lot of money to be made and you are selling amazing homes.
Cons
With the amount of leads coming in, it was hard to have a work life balance especially on the weekends. They cut everyone in the blink of an eye and I didn’t hear from a lot of people I thought I was closer with when I got laid off.

Pros
-Flexible remote work environment -Good benefits package
Cons
Lack of direction from upper management. The plan always seemed to be changing. Too much "pivoting" and the lack of commitment to a solid direction starts to feel like the whole company is going in circles, the same mistakes are being repeated, and resources are being wasted. Lack of transparency from the executive team, focusing too heavily on celebrating "wins" and giving the illusion that things are going well right up to the day you are coldly and abruptly laid off. Blaming the "macro environment" for general incompetence and mismanagement.
