I have been working at Pace Analytical as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible hours and good experience working as a contractor at 3M

    Cons

Never know when you will be let go and you can be let go for any reason. Pay is also terrible

    Advice to Management

More incentives in terms off pay and employment security

I worked at Pace Analytical (More than a year)

    Pros

Work with some amazing people although it varies depending on branch.
Always work to be done so time goes by fast

    Cons

Standing for entire shift (wear comfy shoes)
Management sometimes disorganized so we would run same experiment multiple times

I have been working at Pace Analytical full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Many positions available across the country from contract to direct Pace employee
New ideas are supported and encouraged
Open door policy with high level management
    Great colleagues
    Family feel
    Flexible work environment
    Work/life balance is wonderful

    Cons

The pay much less than what other companies offer for similar roles and inconsistent throughout the division

Way behind the times in email and other IT systems

More training needed for supervisors and managers

    Advice to Management

Invest in your good employees and let the bad ones go. Hire people in with a career path and room for advancement. Never let a position be flat for growth. Find ways to support employees if they want to move within the company and support and encourage them to do so.

I have been working at Pace Analytical full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Company cares about employees. Flexible schedule and willingness to work with employees to accommodate personal lives. I have seen company take donations of sick and vacation time to help those who need time off for emergencies. Also worked around my school schedule so that I could maintain full time status and continue to work.

Actively trying to improve both work environment and customer experience. While this is a hard balance and will take years, Pace is trying to make work enjoyable for employees and results desirable for customers. Accepting of new ideas and CEO is involved with each lab. His yearly visits are always informative and show his interest in everyone's well being.

Room for advancement and decent raises. The industry does not pay well as a whole, but Pace pays well. Yearly raises of 3% are nothing to scoff at in this economy. I have been with Pace 3 years and have had 2 promotions on top of yearly raises. You have to be willing to start with the crappy jobs and work your way up though!!

Great coworkers! Fun and personalities are encouraged

Bench level employees and SR management get it!

    Cons

Middle management has slight disconnect: budget is over valued and opportunity costs are not taken into consideration.

Need to keep long term gains into consideration as well as short term.

Sales needs to join the "team" and not see themselves as an outside group.

    Advice to Management

Continue improving: 3P, lean, and best practices are working!
Promote and hire based on ability not seniority (10 years as an analyst does not always equate to a great manager).

I worked at Pace Analytical full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They take pride in their employees. Very family felt environment! Year round activities to keep the spirit up such as crawfish boils, Christmas gift exchanges, etc. They care about the person themselves and not so much how much they can make for you. Team oriented.

    Cons

The pay could be better. They have competitive salaries, takes more than some are willing to give in order to receive. Sometimes promises are made to clients that may not be realistic but idealistic.

    Advice to Management

Remember to keep the employee in mind.

    Cons

Limited connections to both Pace LabOps and the customer

    Advice to Management

    Pros

Really enjoyed working with all the developers on custom web applications. Great teamwork.

Very conservative ownership and management. Valued sales over any other type of employee.

    Advice to Management

Get to know and recognize the many employees outside of the headquarters who make the company successful.
