I have been working at Pace Suburban Bus full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Newer buses nice customers flexibility in schedules. Newer employee rest areas. Bus operators help each other out quite a bit.

    Cons

Poor management don't respect the employees at all. Throw everything they can to make employees feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Have no faith or trust in staff. Have never saw division among upper official and employees.

    Advice to Management

Stop always trying to make yourself look great for headquarters. At the end of the day you still need us as much as we need you. Give us the employees some room. From the cleaners to the drivers if we don't feel good our customers can tell and don't get the service they deserve. Then headquarters got a real problem and we both lose.

I have been working at Pace Suburban Bus full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good benefits and pension plan, financially well managed, generous with paid time-off (PTO), low stress and free parking.

    Cons

Outdated or inefficient technology is forced upon the workforce through a top-down, command and control process.

    Advice to Management

IMHO many managers at this company have quit and stayed. That is to say, they continue to collect a paycheck but are not doing an effective job of valuing and developing their employees based on the low employee moral and lack of communication that has been widely acknowledged at all levels in the company. There needs to be a honest and serious assessment of management performance at Pace.

I have been working at Pace Suburban Bus full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Pace is a secure job that's in demand. It is easy to move from a fuel servicer to a mechanic position, also it is easy to move in other available jobs in the company. The pay is ok. My current pay is $23.91

    Cons

It is hard to learn all the mechanical repairs if you came in with little experience. They will teach you what you need to know and any technical jobs they have the same person work on the technical stuff all the time.

    Advice to Management

Make sure all mechanics know all jobs. This way when someone is sick or quits you will still have a strong staff

I have been working at Pace Suburban Bus full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You work with very friendly people that are easy to get along with, decent benefits. Work schedule can be adjusted to fit to your liking. Location was convenient to where I lived.

    Cons

Pay isn't completely competitive, other companies pay considerably higher for the same position. Not a lot of room for advancement within the company. Everything done is very micromanaged.

I worked at Pace Suburban Bus part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There are some people who love to see you make time with the company. They will take you out to learn the routes on their own time while at work. On top of that the pay was good starting at $17.15.

    Cons

You may be approached to work someone else shift which you may be unfamiliar with. Don't make any plans always expect the unexpected to happen. You work long hours. So brace yourself.
