Pros
This is a DSO so there is a lot of opportunity for advancement here. The company is excellent at promoting from within. I started as a dental assistant and am now on the support team helping others grow at PDS. The benefits are excellent, PTO is great, 401k with matching and bonus potential for hourly and salaried employees. There is a lot of training and continuing education as well.
Cons
We are a patient centric company (which is a good thing) but that means we don't work 8-5 Mon-Fri. You should be flexible with hours as well as changes in processes and adapting to new technology if you choose to work here. It's not a Con for me but can be for some so thought I'd mention.

Pros
Great benefit package for full time employment. Office managers appreciate all the hard work
Cons
Short staffed long hours. Not enough support for upper management to find hygienists or doctors in a timely manner making patients leave the practice due to no availability.
I am currently a healthcare coordinator (previously known as “treatment plan coordinator) for one of the offices with Pacific Dental Services. Lately I have noticed a big turnover, as our market here in South Carolina has been losing Coordinators, Dental Assistants, and even the Hygienist have been walking away from the company. I really enjoy my role in the office but it does make me curious. What might be the culprit for so many people quitting the company?

Turnover all across the company. People are leaving because they are overworked and underpaid. Not to mention some of the doctors have no people skills and treat employees like garbage… when you talk to your manager, they just tell you have thick skin. Operational managers are encouraged to come in on the weekends to catch up/get ahead. There is no support from the higher-ups. You never see your regional manager, they only call you on the phone so that way they have some idea of what’s going on in the office.
