I have been working at Pacific Drilling full-time

    Pros

Family atmosphere, flex schedule, higher salaries, CEO is down to earth, everyone gets along, open communication, overall a great place to work with lots of room for growth.

    Cons

I do not have anything I dislike about Pacific Drilling.

    Advice to Management

Keep growing and never stop listening to your employees. If you don't respect your employees then you wont be respected. Never demand respect. You get what you give.

I worked at Pacific Drilling full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There aren't many, environment is awkward and mang. Lacks leadership

    Cons

Poor mang., they hide information from employees and built trust with lies to prevent people from leaving then had massive layoffs after stating they would not.

    Advice to Management

When you support from the ground up you make the whole place better. When you take credit at the top for others accomplishments it makes the people doing the work lose respect for you. There is no room to move up and no direction.

I worked at Pacific Drilling full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

As a young company Pacific Drilling is continuing to grow into itself. With the current oil market business has slowed considerably, but I'm sure there will be a strong comeback. I enjoyed the four years that I spent at Pacific Drilling.

    Cons

Being a young company also meant there were growing pains. It sometimes seemed like upper management did not discuss the direction that the company should be taking.

    Advice to Management

Get together and grow as a team. Let employees know that you appreciate them. Talk to the staff\.

    Pros

Forward thinking business plans and focused on cost-efficient operational decisions. Committed to safe working practices and principles. Some great people to work with!

    Cons

Still experiencing some growing pains, coming from being non-existent through start-up stages and now almost fully operational with the current fleet of eight UDW drillships.

    Advice to Management

Maintain focus on putting the right people in the correct positions, and not to overgrow the head office support team beyond the point of full utilization.

I have been working at Pacific Drilling full-time

    Pros

Flex Hours, comp and benefits, cultural diversity,

    Cons

Very poor leadership. Corporate leadership does not treat employee's equally almost to the point of discrimination; High percentage of corporate employee's are not qualified to work for company and are grossly overpaid. High turnover rate at Pacific Drilling due to poor management, poor recruitment and no sense of family and work life balance.
