Pros

PG&E has excellent benefits. The company is also a leader in diversity which is very apparent in the SF general office, more of a challenge in field locations. Pay is very competitive and company leadership does appear to preserve employee pay and jobs while streamlining processes and finding savings.

Cons

As an older company, PG&E is slow to adopt new technologies and trends, and when they do the attention span seems short. Many new ideas aren't given the run time they need to succeed. Many processes are manual and cumbersome. PG&E needs to adjust quickly to keep pace with technology, changing employee expectations and the energy market.

sometimes, there is a passive aggressive culture, many Director level leaders focus exclusively on their own visibility and not genuinely interested in the welfare of their teams if it doesn't help them personally. Some directors are more interested in optics than performance.

Emergent work and emergency response seems constant, creating insurmountable backlogs, frustrated employees and frustrated customers. The work can be very demanding.
