I worked at Pacific Gas and Electric as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

They were really kind to their interns and the work I was doing was really easy for pretty good pay.

    Cons

Very slow moving. I had so little work to do at times that the day would feel very long and drawn out. Some days were just spent waiting to get access to certain computer programs.

I worked at Pacific Gas and Electric full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Benefits are great. Can't say much else. Feels like an old company just staying afloat.

    Cons

Work culture is horrid. Different members of the company get rotational days off with no real reasoning and the new members are left to pick up the slack. Mentality of a government job, employees just riding out the few last years to retirement. Computer systems and applications are old and no real support to update them. Felt like there was a bunch of band aids and no real solutions to later come back as system issues. Not to mention all the contractor work that was being provided which is now ended. Meaning, a system that no one fully understands.

    Advice to Management

Fight for your employees. Pay them for what they are worth. Actually provide developmental plans and road maps to success.
