I worked at Pacific Gas and Electric full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

There are fewer and fewer companies that still offer a pension plan. In this company, the employees get both pension and 401k.
Being one of the largest companies in the San Francisco Bay Area, it has many career paths available to enrich and broaden your interests.

    Cons

A lot of jobs are located in downtown San Francisco. For people living in East Bay, peninsula, South Bay, the commute could be rough. BART is getting really crowded.
Sometimes, it is hard to break into a new department.

I worked at Pacific Gas and Electric (Less than a year)

    Pros

PG&E pampers their interns! Everyone I worked with was very welcoming and treated me with respect. I was trusted to work on projects independently and had numerous opportunities to shadow different professionals and learn about various projects. It is very obvious PG&E values their employees and wants to hang onto them, even if you're changing careers. They cover travel costs and pay for your hours spent travelling, overall a very accommodating employer and I would highly recommend working here to anyone.

    Cons

    Not much to say here.
