I have been working at Pacific Hospitality Group full-time

    Pros

Good people and environment. Great location, parking on site, free employee lunch, employee parties, friendly hospitality atmosphere.

    Cons

Low wages-no bonuses or performance incentives, high turnover, very tight on budget and several cuts during off season, low chance of promotion within. Very little discount to stay at other properties.

I worked at Pacific Hospitality Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Cool people
    - Beautiful location
    - Good opportunities if you know how to leverage companies to build your resume.
    - Benefits

    Cons

    - Lack of communication on all levels.
    - Disconnect from company vision --> company values --> team culture --> operation processes/procedures --> morale --> internal & external guest experience.
    - EXTREMELY high turnover rate (including key management positions).
    - Pay is not competitive/compatible to industry standards
    - Long work days
    - Understaffed
    - A lot of pressure from corporate to meet (preferably exceed) their promises to investors.
    - Drastic changes (company wide) happen fast and often.
    - New created positions are filled before they are created.
    - Original "laid-back luxury" concept is on it's way out.

    Advice to Management

To PHG - don't grow faster than you can. Company has so much potential, some amazing properties within its portfolio and some GOOD talent on-hand. Don't lose them. Remember that managers are also employees, not robots.

To Pasea - don't change the vibe. Once "laid-back luxury" is lost, Pasea will become just another hotel in HB.

I worked at Pacific Hospitality Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The company was in a growth phase for sometime and had acquired some really nice hotels.

    Cons

Lack of alignment between ownership, investors, and leadership.
Poor communication led to mistrust on all levels.
Company culture is lackluster with practically no diversity.

    Advice to Management

Communication to employees of all levels need to be honest and transparent. Create a culture where everyone is welcome and give employees a reason to stay by offering opportunities to grow with the company.

I have been working at Pacific Hospitality Group part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There is honestly nothing, I would not recommend this place to anyone

    Cons

-Your tips go on a pay check that you receive every two weeks, there is about 32% taken out in taxes
-There is a new manager every month
-Your shifts are 8-10 hours with no break
-The schedule comes out 2 days before it starts
-There is multiple months blocked off where you can not take any time off
-The entire staff is miserable and the morale is low
-All they care about are Yelp reviews
-The girls who work upstairs are trashy- covered in tattoos and lip piercings
    - Guests are always complaining about how terrible the food is, the prices, and the hotel rooms

    Advice to Management

-You need to hire someone who has done this before, it is very obvious why you have had 7 managers in the course of 1 years time
-Stop working your staff 8+ hours without a break
